Paramount Pictures: 3 Action Movies on Amazon Prime Video to Watch in July 2024
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Official Trailer #1 – Clint Eastwood Movie (1966) HD
A classic spaghetti Western starring Clint Eastwood, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” may not feature the special effects and gripping fight sequences of contemporary action films, but it remains an enthralling watch. Eastwood’s performance, both in front of and behind the camera, is a testament to his talent. As “The Good,” Eastwood plays Blondie, a drifter who rescues a Mexican bandit named Tuco (Eli Wallach), “The Ugly,” from bounty hunters. Together, they become a formidable pair, running a short-lived bounty hunting, get-rich scheme.
Blondie eventually crosses paths with “Angel Eyes,” or The Bad, played by Lee Van Cleef, a sadistic mercenary who finds pleasure in torturing and killing his victims. Often considered one of the best spaghetti Westerns of all time, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” will transport you back to a simpler era of filmmaking.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers
At the height of her on-screen success, Angelina Jolie transformed into the skilled adventurer and video game character Lara Croft. In “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” Jolie dons a tight bodysuit, shorts, a braid, and gun holsters to bring the character to life. When Croft has a dream about her presumed-to-be-dead father and wakes up to a mysterious clock that won’t stop ticking, she finds herself in a dangerous, potentially catastrophic situation. It’s up to her to save the world.
“Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” is absolute fun to watch. Jolie’s performance was universally praised, as were the incredible action scenes, even if the plot itself falls a little flat. As a bubblegum action flick to entertain you for a few hours on a warm summer night, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” fits the bill perfectly.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One | Official Trailer (2023 Movie) – Tom Cruise
On July 25, the latest in the long-running “Mission Impossible” franchise is coming to Amazon Prime Video without the need for an add-on channel. Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, whose mission (which he chooses to accept) is to stop the activation of an advanced AI through a two-piece cruciform key. In the wrong hands, it could be devastating. When the AI becomes sentient and initiates an attack, the Entity, as it’s now called, turns out to be the most formidable and first non-human enemy Hunt has ever faced.
With Cruise still performing many of his own stunts, a modern and tech-heavy storyline, and new and returning supporting characters, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” will keep you on the edge of your seat through its entire 2.5-hour run. The action sequences are spectacular, especially “that” motorcycle scene and the bumper car chase scene through Rome.
Stream Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One on Amazon Prime Video on July 25. You can rent or purchase the movie now.
