$687 million: will this magical saga from the 2010s soon be back in theaters? – Cinema News

On this Monday, 9 September, the channel W9 rebroadcasts ‘Now You See Me 2’. Time to take stock of the third, and last (for now), part of the heist-magic saga programmed for November 2025 in the United States.

Magic magic and your movies are still genius.Twelve years after the release of its first opus, the Now You See Me franchise will be back in cinemas starting 2025. A new director, the majority of the original cast, and some new recruits. When W9 rebroadcasts the second part this Monday, September 9, let’s see what it tells us.

Release date: When will we see Now You See Me 3?

On November 14, 2025, Now You See Me 3 will be released in the United States (it will be called Now You See Me 3) – but the date in France has still to be announced (it’s unthinkable that the feature film will omit France, which saw 3,021,146 and 2,105,555 spectators for the first two instalments). See you on November 12, Wednesday, or the day before, which will be a constitutional holiday.

Who is directing?

A third director for three films. After Louis Leterrier and Jon M. Chu, now it’s Ruben Fleischer’s turn. For his fourth franchise after Venom, Uncharted and especially Welcome to Zombieland in which he had already directed Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, whom he will see again here.

The cast: who stars in Now You See Me 3?

We take some of the same and we start over Again. All of the regulars from the first film will be back – Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Mark Ruffalo. Izla Fisher, who couldn’t come back for the sequel because she was pregnant when they filmed (and was replaced by Lizzy Caplan), returns to try and pull some pranks.

Daniel Radcliffe won’t reprise his role as the villain of the second instalment, unless there’s a plot twist. But the casting is impressive: recruits include Justice Smith (I Saw the TV Glow, due on VOD soon), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie) and Dominic Sessa, unveiled early last year: by Winter Break. In unspecified roles. Duh.

The story: what will Now You See Me 3 be about?

My success with the Magic Castle demanded the benevolent patience of a magician who never reveals his legerdemain. Nor did the saga ‘leak’ the plot of each opus before its unveiling, save the first; the film itself, which was my initial inspiration, made the existence of the Four Horsemen known to the public.

And there, in the final (and maybe also last) episode, is the trademark ‘last shot looks easy so now I’ll stop’? Unless oh wait just a minute here come the Cavaliers again, mustering to fend off a rival gang?

You won’t have missed that, in a newcomers’ quartet, there could be four pretenders who copied the roles of the Cavaliers; copycats that could drive the originals back to the forefront of our screens to clear their name and remind us how the best man wins. Verdict in November 2025, or in the first trailer?
