Classic logo, Arabic logo, Motion logo, ever heard of any of these? If you’re into your Supreme, you may well have done. However, if you’re still learning about the long history of the brand, you might want to continue reading. Most people only know Supreme for their box-logo, however, as a matter of fact, they actually have many original designs that are used frequently throughout their collections. We’ve listed our favorite of these designs and given a brief history on each, continue reading to find out more.
8. Supreme “Olde English” Logo
The “Olde English” font is a commonly known typeface – it’s been used for years and is popular within the tattoo culture. Supreme created this iconic logo simply by spelling out “Supreme” in the font, and it’s been used many times over the years. We’ve seen hats, coach jackets, T-shirts, and even skate decks using this logo. The logo was used as part of a collaboration with Independent Trucks this year and was a huge success. We hope to see more of this logo in the future – it definitely suits Supreme’s aesthetic well and looks good on some of their more refined pieces.
7. Supreme Script Logo
Another classic is the Supreme script logo. It’s been used since back in the early days, and mostly adorns headwear, although we have seen hoodies and T-shirts use variations of this iconic logo. One of the most known pieces to feature this logo was the Uptown Leather Studded Jacket from SS16, an extremely well-made varsity-style leather jacket, that featured the script logo emblazoned across the front, studded with diamonds. The 6-panel script logo caps are also stapled pieces that are generally released at one point every season.
6. Supreme Arc Logo
The arc logo is simplicity in its purest form. “Supreme” written in block capitals, forming an arc. It’s so simple, what could go wrong? Nothing is the answer, this logo has been used year after year, adorning sweatshirts, hoodies, T-shirts, and a whole load more. Each release has always been a success, and many different variations and colorways have launched. Supreme and Louis Vuitton utilized the arc logo sweatshirt as part of their critically acclaimed collaboration earlier this year.
5. Supreme Surfstyle Logo
Less frequently seen is the logo pictured above, known as the Supreme Surfstyle logo. It was first seen in 2011, taking pride of a place on a cruiser style skate deck, and then again in 2015, when 5-panel caps and a long-sleeve T-shirt were released also featuring the surf style logo. It’s said to be inspired by the original Oakley logo, and we can certainly see the influence shining through. It has a retro feel about it and isn’t generally associated with hyped items, however, it’s still a worthy logo and deserves a place on this list.
4. Supreme Arabic Logo
The Arabic logo is another design that has been around since nearly the start. The Arabic logo tee was one of Supreme’s original T-shirt designs and was highly coveted by fans. Fast forward to the present day and it’s been re-released multiple times, as well as hoodies, jackets, and headwear. Just last week the brand released Arabic logo long-sleeve T-shirts, and they sold out in minutes. The recent Arabic coach jackets also received the same warm welcome.
3. Supreme Worldwide Logo
Back in 2015, Supreme introduced a new logo, featuring the iconic box-logo within it. The design was titled the “worldwide logo”. It featured a globe, surrounded by several flags of the world, and then a banner containing multiple box-logos. So far, we’ve only seen this design once – featured on a long-sleeve T-shirt. We’d love to see more apparel featuring this design in the future, but will Supreme bring it back? Only time will tell.
2. Supreme Motion Logo
The motion logo is another original Supreme design that’s been revisited several times over the years. It launched again in T-shirt form in 2010, then once again in 2016. The latter of these releases also featured motion logo 6-panel hats, skate decks, and even a Vans collaboration that featured the motion logo printed on the sidewall of the sneakers. It’s an extremely popular design, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Supreme bought it back in the near future.
1. Supreme “Supream” Logo
Another popular logo is the “Supream” logo, designed by Mark Gonzales. It incorporates a handwritten, misspelled Supreme logo. There’s actually an interesting story behind this, The Gonz was friends with James Jebbia since the early days, and he used to send him postcards from his travels. Gonzales is a dyslexia sufferer, and he used to address the postcards to “Supream NYC”. It’s a great story, and the logo really has some meaning behind it. We’ve seen countless designs feature the “Supream” logo over the years, and we’re looking forward to seeing more.
