Kate Moss is the new face of Zara’s latest collection, and Dior demands compensation from Valentino (then retracts). Stay up to date with the latest international fashion news stories of the week.

Dior Demands Compensation from Valentino, Retracts Demands

Dior demanded compensation from Valentino in the wake of the latter’s Couture Show in Rome before subsequently retracting the demand. The event took place on the Spanish Steps, drawing a crowd of celebrities, influencers, and fashion students alike. According to a report, Valentino acquired all necessary permits for the show. The label also sent a letter to Dior’s Italiana boutique, instructing them about the upcoming show. In this letter, Valentino ‘guaranteed regular foot traffic to the stores.’

But this is not what occurred, according to Dior. In the notice, the show caused disruption to the boutique, with customers being ‘refused access and blocked at the barrier.’ Dior then demanded compensation of €100,000 within 15 days for lost sales. However, this demand has since been retracted. Moreover, spectators of the Valentino show and fashion enthusiasts questioned the motive behind the demand from Dior. According to the new letter from Dior, the compensation demand was dropped “in light of the friendly relationship between the two Maisons.”

Dua Lipa is Back with Second Puma Collaboration

Dua Lipa is releasing a second collaboration with Puma. The collection pays homage to the rave culture of the ’90s and features 30 throwback pieces in neon and jewel tones. This collaboration, dubbed Flutur, includes a tracksuit, a bralette, shorts, skirts, and dresses. All items are made to mix and match. “You can style the pieces however you want—you can cut them up, and you can create different, exciting ways of wearing them,” said Dua Lipa to Vogue. “I love pairing the tracksuit or trainers with more high-fashion accessories or even heels for an elevated look.”

“I love the imagery from the rave culture days of the ’90s and 2000s,” she said. “You can feel the energy in them, and the fashion was always so fun. These time periods inspire everything from my music to the way I dress today, so it felt only natural to incorporate some of those color schemes and silhouettes into this collection.” The collection is available to purchase online and in-store.

Tommy Hilfiger to Return to NYFW

Tommy Hilfiger is making a comeback to NYFW after three years. The American designer is returning to the September event, presenting his FW22 collection via digital and physical formats. He will showcase the collection in a ‘see now, buy now’ format. “This season is all about the collision of my favorite archival inspirations with the new live event concepts and virtual worlds,” he said in a statement. “It’s the perfect expression of what we stand for as we pay homage to our roots with a return to NYFW.” The show will take place at Brooklyn’s Skyline Drive-In on September 11.

Kate Moss is the Face of Zara’s New Campaign

Kate Moss is front and center in the new campaign for Zara. The latest collection, dubbed Into the Night, features the British supermodel dazzling in the garments as she departs taxis, walks the streets, and laughs at a dinner table. The campaign was put together by the French fashion editor Emmanuelle Alt and shot by David Sims, features a mix of back and white and color photos. The campaign is a throwback to her party days and iconic off-duty model looks of the ’90s. The collection features 25 garments, including crystal-embellished dresses, bralettes, silk dresses, bustiers, and trousers.
