10 amazing AI wallpapers I made with the Google Pixel 8
At its Made by Google event on October 4, Google revealed the next generation of the Pixel portfolio of products. The stars of the show were the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro.
As for the Pixel 8, we now have a beautiful, 6.2-inch OLED display that reaches up to a 120Hz refresh rate, which is a nice jump over the Google Pixel 7’s 90Hz. The Pixel 8 Pro has received more significant upgrades, including the new 6.7. -inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate that can reach up to 2,400 nits of outdoor brightness (making it the brightest screen on any smartphone). There’s also a new 48MP ultrawide lens that joins a 50MP main camera and a 48MP telephoto sensor. Both Pixel 8 devices also feature the latest Tensor G3 chip for power and efficiency.
This year, Google has added more AI features to the Pixel 8 lineup. There’s a new Best Take feature, which takes a series of photos with the focus on people’s faces. The result is a single image created by removing a person’s face from one image and replacing it with a better face from another. It also has the Magic Editor, which allows you to move your subjects, change the sky, and more.
Oh yes – and we have AI wallpapers too.
Yes, you read that correctly. You can create your own AI wallpapers for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro right on your phone. It’s a fascinating feature, and I’ve had a lot of fun using it.
How to use the Pixel 8’s AI wallpaper feature
So, how can you create your own AI-generated wallpapers on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro? It’s very easy!
- launch Adjustment On your Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro.
- Scroll down and select wallpaper and style,
- choose more wallpapers,
- choose ai wallpaper,
- choose a tHe — me to begin.
- There will be a hint with the underlined words. Select those words to bring up more options to choose from to create a custom composition.
- choose create wallpaper Or inspire me And see if Pixel 8 brings you something completely unique.
You’ll find a few differently generated wallpapers with each sign, and you can swipe to see them all. If you’re happy with one, select the checkmark in the upper-right corner to apply it as your lock screen or home screen (or both) wallpaper.
It’s important to note that any AI-generated wallpaper you use will be saved under a section called “Your AI Wallpapers” on the AI Wallpapers screen. This allows you to have quick access to those you want to use at any time.
AI Wallpapers I Made on Google Pixel 8
If you were expecting a full-blown AI art generator like DALL-E, you’ll be a little disappointed. The AI wallpaper generator on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro is limited to 12 themes, each with its own unique touch with limited customization options.
However, given what you have to work with, this is a chance to create some very unique wallpaper images that no one else will have. Thankfully, the Pixel 8 will save any AI-generated wallpaper you use so you can use it again in the future if you want.
I played around with the AI wallpaper generator a bit and these are some of my favorites. While I can get these results My pixel 8 pro, You You may get something completely different. That’s the fun with the AI wallpaper generator – you never know what you’re going to get!
Mineral (Pastel Bismuth)
I’m no geologist, but minerals are fascinating to look at, especially when you get close to them. For this, I chose “Bismuth” with “pastel” colors, and the resulting image is a stunner with lots of straight lines and textures, blurry backgrounds and vibrant pastel colors. I personally love it!
Texture (Pink Sand)
A good texture can make a great wallpaper. Here, I chose “pink” and “sand” to get some different results. This is the best of the four that it gave me, with two shades of pink for a sandy sand texture.
The others I was given didn’t look very good, as they didn’t seem to be completely high resolution and instead looked like a badly compressed image. Some results did not look like sand at all.
bloom (cherry blossom)
I love cherry blossoms! Under the Bloom theme, I chose “Cherry Blossom” combined with “Pink” and “Waterfall” to create this image with a pink background and cherry blossoms on both sides, which makes a great lock screen wallpaper with the clock in the middle. . However, I think the image quality is definitely not high resolution, due to AI artifacts making it compressed.
Soft-Focus (Pink Azalea)
Who doesn’t love a good soft-focus photo? With this theme, you can choose from a few different flowers and insects and choose a color. For this, I chose the colors “Azalea” and “Pink”. I got some results that looked not like flowers but like pink blobs of nothingness, and it took a few tries to actually get anything that looked like a proper azalea. And once I did that, the image quality still looked like a low-quality JPEG.
Translucent (Pink Desert Rose)
I was a little curious about what the outcome of the transparent theme would be. Here, I chose “Desert Rose” and “Pink”. I got pretty good results on the first try, and they’re all basically a close-up macro image of a desert rose against a solid pink background.
It was hard to choose just one. For the most part, the images from this prompt looked quite clear and crisp in quality, not a badly compressed image like many other results I found.
Fantasy (Pink and Purple Rhododendron UFO)
The hypothetical topic is wild. You choose an object, a material and a color theme and get an interesting result. Here, I chose the “UFO,” “Rhodrocite,” and “Pink and Purple” color themes. It seems you may get fewer results for these than other topics. The resulting image definitely puts together your selections, and well, I’m not sure why I would want it as my wallpaper.
Fantasy (blue and indigo colored building)
As I was playing with the Imaginary theme, I noticed that some of the materials you could choose from were “felt” or “chenille” and other furry materials. I became interested in it and decided to make it a “building” in “blue and indigo” colors.
What I found sure was a strange looking hut covered in blue and indigo colored fur. It feels like you’re looking at something in a fantasy world, and hey, if it’s something you want as a wallpaper, the Pixel 8 can help you create such unique images.
Painting-Classicist-Style Robot Cityscape)
Another fun theme is the Painting theme, which also gets some good results like the Imaginary theme. Here, I chose a painting of “Cityscape” and “Robot” in the “Classicist” style and achieved some typical results. I’m no artist, but it sure looks like a digital painting, and hey, it has the same things I asked for, right?
Painting (Post-Impressionist Flying Cars and Oceans, 19th century)
Like Imaginary, you can get excited with the painting options. Here I chose “vast oceans” and “flying cars” in the “post-impressionist 19th century” style. I definitely found the ocean and flying cars to be in a style that reminds me of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” If you want to get weird with your wallpaper, painting (and fantasy) is the way to go.
X-Ray (Living Butterfly Wings)
I’ve never really thought about using X-ray images as wallpaper, but hey, here’s an option for that. You have the ability to choose from a variety of different plants, insects and other objects from nature and then choose a color. For this, I chose “Butterfly Wings” in “Vibrant.” You can definitely tell these are butterfly wings, although some of the results seemed a little too abstract. I didn’t think I’d care for the X-ray theme, but it’s extraordinary to me.
infinite possibilities
I’m not sure if anyone was asking for an AI wallpaper generator with their smartphone, but Google clearly thought it was worth adding it to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. And even if you don’t have Google’s latest Pixel, the AI wallpaper tool will be coming to all Android 14 devices later.
You won’t get 100% good results when using an AI wallpaper generator, and sometimes it will take several tries before you find something good. Thankfully, if you find a great wallpaper and set it as your wallpaper, it is saved for you for quick access later. Unfortunately, however, if you like multiple results from a batch, you can only save the ones you use the most, and the rest are lost.
AI wallpaper tool Reason to buy Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro? No, but it’s a fun, unique addition to phones — and great for Google.
