Steps to Apply for JKSET Requirement 2024

1. Visit the official website of JKSET i.e. https://www.jujkset.in.
2. Choose your desired Union Territory (J&K or Ladakh) and Category for application. Pay the examination fee online.
3. Print the Fee Receipt and retain the Transaction Reference Number for registering to fill the application form.
4. Register using Transaction Reference Number and create a password.
5. Choose the UT for application and upload recent Photograph and Signature.
6. Fill in all the required fields with accurate and relevant information. This includes your personal details, contact information, academic history, government ID number, etc and submit the application form.
7. Take the print out of the application form and keep it for future use.

Application Fee

The application fees for JKSET varies based on different categories. For candidates belonging to the Unreserved Category, RBA/ALC-IB/OBC/EWS, as well as SC/ST, Transgender, and PwD with 40% disability, there are separate fee structures. Candidates are required to pay the examination fee through the online mode. It is essential for candidates to carefully review the fee structure corresponding to their category and make the payment accordingly to successfully complete the application process for JKSET.

Eligibility Criteria

1. To be eligible for JKSET/LASET, you need a Master’s degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (or 50% for SC/ST/PwD) from a UGC-recognized university. The same relaxation in fees and age (if applicable) applies to transgender candidates as for SC/ST.
2. Final year Master’s students can apply for JKSET/LASET even if their results aren’t declared yet. However, they’ll be considered eligible for Assistant Professor only if they pass their Master’s degree with the required minimum marks (55% for general, 50% for SC/ST/PwD) within two years of the SET result. Otherwise, their application will be disqualified.
3. The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks(i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in JKSET/LASET.
4. Candidates are required to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects, may appear in UGC-NET/ UGC-CSIR Test held on regular basis.
5. Candidates having post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by an institution falling outside the Indian University system or having foreign degree/diploma awarded by a foreign university/ institution should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence* of their course(s) with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

Centers of Examination

Candidates of the respective divisions will have three main examination centers: Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh. By providing multiple examination centers, the authorities aim to facilitate candidates’ participation in the examination process and minimize travel inconvenience. Candidates can choose the center nearest to their location, making it easier for them to attend the examination without logistical challenges.
