Part 2: Offline Process (Mobile Number, Name, Biometrics)

Use this method if your mobile number is NOT linked or if you need to change Name/DOB.

1. Locate a Center

  • Go to bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/aadhaar or use the “Locate Enrolment Center” on the UIDAI website.

  • Select your State/District to find the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Bank/Post Office center.

2. Book Appointment (Optional but Recommended)

3. At the Center

  • Fill the Aadhaar Update Form (Available at center).

  • Complete Biometric Verification (Fingerprint/Iris).

4. Fees

  • Biometric Update (Photo/Iris/Fingerprint): ₹100

  • Demographic Update (Mobile/Name/Address): ₹50

How to Check Status

Track your application 24-48 hours after submission.

  1. Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar.

  2. Enter your URN (from online) or SRN (from offline slip).

  3. Enter Captcha and submit.

  4. Status Meanings:

    • In Process: Still being verified.

    • Completed: Update done. Download new e-Aadhaar.

    • Rejected: See specific reason (usually document mismatch).

Common Problems & Solutions

1. “Payment deducted but no URN generated.”

  • Solution: Do not pay again immediately. Wait 24 hours. The status usually updates automatically. If not refunded in 7 days, log a grievance at UIDAI.

2. “Document Rejected due to Mismatch.”

  • Solution: The name/address on your uploaded document must match exactly what you typed in the form. If your electricity bill says “K. Sharma” but you entered “Kumar Sharma”, it may get rejected.

3. “Mobile Number not linked, can I update address online?”

  • Solution: No. You need an OTP for online login. You must visit a center first to link your mobile number.

4. “Limit Exceeded Error” (Name/Gender/DOB).

  • Solution: Name can be updated twice; DOB/Gender once. If you exceeded this, you must visit a Regional UIDAI Office with an “Exception Handling” request and valid proof.

5. “Address updated but not showing in new download.”

  • Solution: It takes up to 30 days (rarely up to 90) for the backend to sync. Clear your browser cache or download e-Aadhaar again after 48 hours of “Completed” status.
