Adidas Rouge Red Trainers – All You Need to Know | Curated Mint

Do you often feel like you’ve missed out on some of the best sneakers out there because of your date of birth? We agree. Your trainer game should not be constricted by time and space. That said, Adidas is about to reissue one of their most coveted pairs: The Rouge OG Red is ready to join the family again.

Drop your crazy scientist tools. You might not need that time travelling machine after all – or at least it doesn’t have to be the entire centre of your existence anymore. You can finally travel back to 1976 and get yourself a pair of the classic Adidas Rouge Red. If it weren’t clear from their name, these trainers come in a beautiful flame red and they are one of the most wanted pairs of trainers amongst all sneaker hunters out there.

From a very far away first glance, the untrained eye might think that it’s just a pair of Gazelles. Sorry to tell you guys, you’ve failed your sneakers test. The 70s were a massive decade for trainers and for Adidas in particular. They started off the decennium with a bang renaming a pair of trainers that most of us now own: the Adidas Stan Smith. Then the Three Stripes swiftly moved on to dedicate a pair to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in ’71 and dropped the Adidas Americana in the same year. Finally, in 1976, these suede beauties were born. Let’s take a closer look at the adidas Rouge OG Red before their drop date.

The Adidas Rouge Red Trainers

The super soft texture of the red bovine suede uppers is contrasted by the blue accents of the classic stripes in zig zag cut along with the blue leather heel tab to complete the vintage design. As it always goes with suede shoes, it’s crucial that you protect this amazing yet fragile material. Featuring a classic gum sole, this pair also has a suede tongue which makes this model incredibly close to its original version. If you finally manage to get that time travelling machine working, no one will be able to tell the difference.
