Adidas x United Arrows & Sons x Slam Jam is Coming

Adidas Consortium is king of the collaborations and we all know it. Their latest double collaboration comes in the form of a Gazelle and a Campus, with the help of Japan’s United Arrows & Sons and Italy’s very own Slam Jam.

Both of the collaborating companies have long impressive histories in the sneaker world. They were both established in 1989, and since then United Arrows & Sons have gone on to open over 100 stores globally, whilst Slam Jam has grown into one of Europe’s biggest menswear institutions.

The two silhouettes of choice are tried and tested Adidas classics – the Gazelle and the Campus. The shoes are being marketed as “luxury leisure shoes” due to their premium rate construction and luxury materials. The project is actually experimental – it’s an investigation into how reworking high quality textiles can produce a luxury pair of sneakers. The Campus comes in all white, and is constructed of 100% organic cotton. They boast being more comfortable than a pair of slippers. The Gazelle is constructed of Ikeuchi Organic Towelling and Alcantara fabrics. This time the colourway of choice is an off-white tone. Both models feature branding from all three companies throughout, however very subtly, opting for the less is more aesthetic.

If you’re liking the look of these premium sneakers, the good news is that a release date has already been announced. From October the 7th you’ll be able to purchase both models of the collaboration from Consortium stockists around the world. The prices are slightly higher than those for the base models, however what you’ll get for your money is a luxury sneaker that’s built to last rather than just a standard model. Hype-wise, it’s unlikely there will be queues to get your hands on a pair, however they may well be a limited release therefore it’s better to be safe rather than sorry.
