After the success of Vice Versa 2, Pixar is preparing a film on the mafia that should surprise you!

While Elio, the new original pixar film, released this Wednesday in our rooms, the studio unveiled its future projects at the Annecy festival, which was held last week.

Pete Doctor, director of Vice-Versa and Director of the Creation of the Studios, took the opportunity to announce a new project which should appeal to the Ailurophiles!

Entitled Gatto, the feature film has a black cat called Néro as hero. Directed by Enrico Casarosa and produced by Andrea Warren – the duo already at work on the very successful Luca – the film takes place in Venice.

After years spent navigating in the city with 150 channels, where superstition is queen (black cats would bring misfortune), Néro begins to wonder if he really lived the nine lives to which he could claim. In debt with a local Feline mafia chief, he soon finds himself faced with a dilemma and forced to forge an unexpected friendship which, in the end, could help him accomplish his destiny …

After her short film La Luna (2011) and Luca (2021), Enrico Casarosa therefore takes us again in Italy, to make us vibrate for a summer alongside a feline hero. Enough to put black cats back in the spotlight after the brilliant Flow.

Gatto is announced in theaters for the summer of 2027, probably on June 16, when Disney mentions a film “Unitled Pixar” in its latest line-up.

Waiting for, Elio Going out tomorrow in our rooms and will be followed by Hoppers, March 4, 2026, in which a student transfers her mind in a robot beaver in order to protect a natural area.

The highly anticipated Toy Story 5 is announced for June 17, 2026, while the production of indestructibles 3 has just started. If the release date has not yet been specified, Disney reserved on June 14, 2028 for another “Unitled Pixar” in its calendar. It is therefore likely that it is the third adventure of the superhero family!
