Karnataka government is soon going to give its own New York-like Times Square to Bengaluru. City Mayor R Sampath Raj said the grand landmark will come up at one of Bengaluru’s most popular locations: the intersection of Residency Road and Brigade Road in the central business district.
The proposed Bangalore Square will be a hub of entertainment, business and commercial centres, and is also expected to be built on a vast land of 25 acres. Saying that Bengaluru is fast becoming a global city, the city mayor said Bengaluru Square will make the road a world-class tourist destination.
Times Square, New York is called the center of the universe, and is the most visited tourist attraction in the world. About 39 million tourists visit here from different parts of the world and about 300,000 people pass through the square every day.
