Today’s best smartphone deals
Carrier offers typically require you to sign up for a specific service (usually an unlimited plan), trade in an old device, or enter your current number to get the best possible discount. This is often the best way to get a deal on a branded smartphone – especially newer models that have just been released. This isn’t always a viable option, however, but these smartphone deals do have some great unlocked devices to offer to a service provider of your choice:
- – – $ 150, was $ 250
- – – $ 150 ($ 5 / month) with unlimited plan, was $ 400
- – – Starting at $ 150 ($ 5 / month) with eligible trade-in, $ 300 ($ 10 / month) without, was $ 1,000

Samsung Galaxy Smartphone Deals
More than ten years after its launch, Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones still have the lion’s share of the Android smartphone market and could arguably be considered Apple’s main competitor globally (although Apple currently has a larger market share in the US than all Android phone brands combined). As you could probably deduce from the name, the 2019 Galaxy S10 phones represent the tenth generation of Samsung’s main flagship line, but Samsung was in the spirit of 2020 when it launched the new S-series flagship – the Galaxy S20 – launched Galaxy Unpacked Event.
The Galaxy family also offers the Note smartphones, which take up an odd place as alternative flagships with larger displays and included pens, although no new update has been announced on Galaxy Unpacked. However, Samsung unveiled the unique Galaxy Z Flip, a new twist on the old flip phone concept, and in late 2019 we saw the larger (almost iPad Mini-like in use) Samsung Galaxy Fold.
With the offers for 2019, buyers have five 10th generation Galaxy devices to choose from: the Galaxy S10, the larger S10 Plus, the price-conscious S10e, the Note 10 and the Note 10 Plus (the Galaxy Note) 10 series are still the latest Notes to buy right now, although we may see new Note models later this year.
They’re all great, although the Galaxy S10e is the best value while the Note 10 Plus might be our favorite. If you’re looking for a new release deal like this one, your best bet is to take advantage of the carrier deals listed below. However, if you don’t mind last-gen things, you can also find great deals on carrier-unlocked models like the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S8, Note 9, and similar flagships for 2017 and 2018.
Apple iPhone offers
The Apple iPhone is the device that put smartphones in the spotlight, and more than a decade later, the series is still going strong. Last year, not two, but three new models (an industry trend that has become the norm in recent years) were released for the mid-range iPhone 11, the flagship iPhone 11 Pro, and the premium iPhone 11 Pro Max. This follows Apple’s 2018 release strategy, which saw the company launch the lower-priced iPhone XR along with the more expensive flagship iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Apple most recently brought back the iPhone SE, with the second-generation SE being a great flagship mid-range alternative that is similar to Google’s Pixel 3a.
Unfortunately, Apple iPhone deals can be a little hard to find at times. Often the best way to save hundreds is to either take advantage of a carrier sign-up offer or simply buy a refurbished one, but savvy bargain hunters can still find prepaid or unlocked iPhone deals on new and slightly older models if they can look around. Now is a particularly good time to check for deals on recently discontinued devices like the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the high-end iPhone X. These are great 2017 flagships that are much cheaper now, but not too old for your everyday smartphone use.
LG smartphone deals
Browsing LG’s flagship offerings can be a bit confusing due to some strange naming conventions, but there’s no denying that this brand is pumping out some very good Android smartphones. Similar to Samsung, LG has two different flagship lines: the G-series standard devices and the V-series premium phones, both of which now bear the LG “ThinQ” trademark. This year the company added three new devices to the G-series stable, the LG G8 ThinQ (the successor to the 2018 G7 ThinQ) and the truly unique dual-screen ThinQ G8x, while updating the V-series in the newer 5G became -enabled LG V50 ThinQ, which succeeded the 2018 V35 ThinQ and V40 ThinQ.
We didn’t love the latest deals from LG as much as others, but they’re still solid Android devices and well worth it if you can find a good deal – which you can with our help. Carriers often have discounts, rebates, and BOGO deals on these premium LG devices, but sometimes you can also find some nice deals on unlocked smartphones, even for the latest models. And if you want the best deal on a flagship that you can still find new (and that hasn’t been used or refurbished), don’t turn your nose up at slightly older picks like the LG G7 ThinQ or LG G6.
Google Pixel Smartphone Deals
Google was late to the hardware game, but given that this software titan is the brain behind the Android operating system, it’s no surprise that its Pixel phones offer what may be the best Android out-of-the-box experience out there in one there mobile device. Unlike decades-old devices like the iPhone or Galaxy, Google’s Pixel devices are currently only in their fourth generation: the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were recently released in the fall and bring some notable improvements such as all-metal-and-devices. Glass construction (waiver of the partially plastic back of the previous models) together with a new camera module with three lenses. This was followed by the excellent flagships Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL from 2018.
These flagship smartphones are also affordable compared to the competition (with Apple and Samsung now launching flagships valued at over $ 1,000), and Google has already unveiled two even more affordable flagship mid-range alternatives – the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL Google’s staggered smartphone release strategy means we may see a new Pixel 4a and 4a XL next spring. However, right now, if you’re looking to buy one of these devices cheaply, the Pixel 3a under $ 400 is the right choice. While deals for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL may be tight this early on in their launch, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are still worth buying, now available for deep discounts.
Carrier smartphone offers
Cellular carriers regularly offer enticing incentives to get you to switch to their LTE plans. Carrier deals are often the best way to get deals on new flagships like the iPhone 11 and Samsung Galaxy S20 as well. If you’re looking for a new carrier, you can save a ton of money and even get a free device by using one of the many smartphone deals that are always available from Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T. Note, however, that these promotions are often offered in the form of invoice credits rather than regular discounts.
These carrier offers are constantly changing, but you can check out each service provider’s updated deals page here:
