What did Internet users of “BET” think, the new Netflix series adapted to the famous manga “Gambling School”?
A success of audiences is not always synonymous with quality. Unveiled on May 15 on Netflix, BET has since appeared in the top 5 of the most seen series in France on the platform. Around the world, the program totals 13.7 million hours of viewing, a good start for the live-action adaptation of the manga gambling school.
But what did the subscribers of the platform of this new series think? The spectators note on Allociné 3.2 out of 5 (47 notes, 16 critics) suggests that BET divided Internet users. The entertaining aspect and the action scenes have met with some success, as evidenced by these few 5 -star criticisms:
According to Brandon Leclair:
“Many people are on the criticism of this series !! I do not understand, for me this series was a complete series for a first season, yes this it does not resume everything from the anime but it does not matter that is also good, hoping to see season 2 on Netflix!”
Selon Jérémy Ufuyashiki (NeoX):
“I really liked the series. The story is engaging and the characters are good. Each episode kept me in suspense, and I loved the general atmosphere of the series. It is the kind of series that makes you think while entertaining. Frankly, a great discovery that I recommend.”
According to Auriane Gourdon:
“I expected to hate it, but I absolutely loved it! We quickly get started in history and we always want more. Small significant bonus: we are always surprised afterwards, in no case predictable and boring.”
An adaptation too far from the manga gambling school?
Conversely, manga fans seemed disappointed with this adaptation in real shots. Many fans notably pointed out the releases with the original work. Should we deduce that the best way to appreciate this series is not to know either the manga or its animated adaptation (also available on Netflix)?
According to Eden hits:
“As a fan of Kakegurui, I can’t at all appreciate this live action, if not some similarities taken from the manga, the script has nothing to do with it. Not to mention the characters who are completely off topic, you tell me that Suki is supposed to be embodied Itsuki?
According to Grégoire B.:
“The manga is exciting, the anime transcribes the spirit of the manga well despite an accelerated course and the live action was a rather successful adaptation of the anime. Netflix offers us an adaptation of the concept. We find some characters similar to the original material. (…)”
According to Rodrigue Simon (official Freedom):
“Copy of a live action series, which is itself the copy of an anime but in less well. The anime was already well -dressed .. money thrown out the Netflix windows ..”
The BET series can now be found exclusively on Netflix.
