Beyond this tribute, this final episode perfectly rebels the characters' cards: Samantha has a broken heart to have – for once – believed in love and loyalty, Charlotte is ready to meet new people, Miranda is now a mom with all the upheavals that this new life will bring (including perhaps to her group of friends) and Carrie finds herself in a long distance relationship with her “sex friend”.
It is with this final that the show has found a new magnitude by approaching new questions through its heroine quartet as eccentric as Atacher. This melancholic final closes as many intrigues as it opens, and marks the fact that times have changed. For the series as for the United States post-September 11. A great episode.
