Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released CDS 2 2023 Result along with cut off marks for Combined Defence Services (CDS) on 03rd October 2023 at the official website of UPSC in PDF format. The candidates who clear the CDS 2 written exam will be called for the SSB interview, which includes various tests such as the Psychological test, Group Testing Officer Tasks (GTO), and Personal Interview. Candidates who qualify for both the CDS exam and the SSB Interview will undergo rigorous training for 1.5 years at the respective training academies of the Army/ Navy/ Air Force.
After completing the selection process for the UPSC CDS exam, the candidates have the chance to become officers in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Force. The candidates will be posted as Lieutenants or Flying Officers, depending on their chosen service, after completing their training period. Officers who are recruited through CDS are commissioned into the Indian Armed Forces and receive a monthly salary between Rs. 56,100 and Rs. 2,50,000, depending on their rank and experience. They can serve for the nation for a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 14 years, after which they can either leave the service or extend it on a contractual basis.

Selection Process of CDS Exam
The selection procedure comprises 2 parts i.e. written exam and a personal interview. The candidates who qualify for the written exam will be called for a personal interview. The personal interview is conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB). Below is the process of selection of personnel through the CDS exam.
Written exam: For the first stage, the candidates have to appear in the written exam of CDS which have three subjects namely English, GK and Maths. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. To qualify for the exam, the candidates must clear the minimum marks criteria decided by the commission.
Document Verification: The candidates who will appear for the personal interview can only proceed further if they have all the documents required for verification with them. The candidates who do not produce all the documents will not be allowed for the personal interview.
Personal Interview: The candidates who qualify for the written exam appear for the personal interview conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB). The personal interview will consist of a Personality test and an Intelligence test.
Medical Test: The candidate recommended by the SSB will be allotted for a medical check-up. The candidates will be checked for his medical fitness in context with vision, hearing ability and presence of any other ailment. The candidate who clears this test will be considered for recruitment after due training.
