A short passage in the series
Toya Turner joined the detective series in July 2024, after the departure of Tracy Spiridakos in the role of inspector Hailey Upton after eight seasons, during the last episode of season 11. Previously, Jesse Lee Soffer (Jay Halstead and ex-Mari de Hailey) had also farewell to the team.
Turner interpreted the role of Kiana Cook, a former tactical officers demoted to the Patroller by her hierarchical superior after having noticed her tendency to avoid any serious work to preserve his retirement. She had drawn the attention of intelligence services after helping to arrest the murderer of their last recruit, inspector Emily Martel, before being recruited by Voight (Jason Beghe), which she helped in a case involving adolescent girls killing their attackers.
