The competition for the 78th Cannes Film Festival is coming to an end this Friday with the latest screenings of the selected films. It is therefore tomorrow that the jury chaired this year by Juliette Binoche, accompanied among others by Halle Berry, Leila Slimani, or Jeremy Strong, will have to make her verdict. And as every year, the forecasts are going well to try to know which film will be sacred and will receive the Palme d’Or 2025.

Among the insistent rumors around the films that seemed to have seduced press and spectators on the Croisette, we find the secret agent of the Brazilian Kleber Mendonça Filho, telling the story of a man fleeing a troubled past, who arrives in the city of Recife where carnival is in full swing. He comes to find his young son and hopes to build a new life there. But death threats prowl and hover over his head.
Also in the list of favorites, a simple accident of Iranian Jafar Panahi (none bear, Taxi Tehran), which as its name suggests with an accident, in this case that of a family hitting a night dog on an isolated road, which will generate a series of consequences leading a group of people to be carried out that they share a common past marked by torture.
But the film which seems to be drawn and acting as a favorite this year may remain sentimental value of the Norwegian Joachin Trier who four years after the overwhelming Julie in 12 chapters, again stages Renate Reinsve in this new dramatic comedy.
So who of these contenders and many others (New Wave, Sound of Falling…) will win the Palme d’Or tomorrow? Only a few hours before discovering it, and to wait a quiz returning to the previous editions of the Cannes Film Festival.
