CLAT Syllabus 2024- The Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is a national-level entrance exam for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses offered at 22 National Law Universities (NLU’s) and several other Law colleges/ universities. CLAT Syllabus 2024 for UG Course
CLAT offers admission for the graduate course right after passing 12th and admission for a postgraduate course, therefore the syllabus will be different for each of them. The question paper will be based on the English language, Quantitative Techniques, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning and Logical Reasoning.
CLAT tests the aptitude and skills that are necessary for a legal education rather than prior knowledge, though prior knowledge occasionally may be useful to respond to questions in the Current Affairs section.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2024 for UG Course
As per the revised CLAT Exam Pattern 2024, the UG-CLAT 2024 will be a 2-hour test, with 120 multiple-choice questions with 1 mark each. There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

CLAT Syllabus and Topics for UG Course
CLAT UG Syllabus is purely based on the 12th standard difficulty level except for Quantitative Techniques and the students must focus on the topics that must be covered to secure good marks in the Common Law Entrance Test.
CLAT Syllabus 2024- English Language
For CLAT-UG 2024 English Language, passages will be derived from contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing and would be of a standard that a 12th-standard student may be able to read in about 5-7 minutes.
Each passage will be followed by a series of questions that will require you to demonstrate your comprehension and language skills, including your abilities to:
1. Reading Comprehension
2. Inferences and conclusions
3. Summarise the passage
4. Arguments or Viewpoints
5. Meaning of various words and phrases
CLAT Syllabus 2024- General Knowledge
Passages of up to 450 words each will be given. The passages will be derived from news, journalistic sources and other non-fiction writing. The questions may include an examination of legal information or knowledge discussed in or related to the passage, but would not require any additional knowledge of the law beyond the passage.
Each passage will be followed by a series of questions that will require you to demonstrate your awareness of various aspects of current affairs and general knowledge, including:
1. Main Events of India and the world
2. Arts and culture
3. National & International Affairs
4. Historical Events
CLAT Syllabus 2024- Legal Reasoning
Each passage will consist of 450 words related to the facts, situations or scenarios involving legal matters, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. You will benefit from a general awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues to better apply general principles or propositions to the given fact scenarios.
Each passage would be followed by a series of questions that will require you to:
1. Identify and infer the rules and principles on which the passage is focussed.
2. Rules and principles to various facts and situations asked in the passage.
3. Understanding of the rules and principles in any altered situations.
CLAT Syllabus 2024- Logical Reasoning
The Logical Reasoning section of the UG-CLAT 2024 consists of a series of short passages (around 300 words). The questions to be asked in this section will be including the following questions.
1. Acknowledgment of arguments, their premises and conclusions
2. Identification of arguments discussed in the passage
3. Reasoning Ability
4. Conclusions based on particular premises or evidence
5. Infer what follows from the passage and apply these inferences to new situations
6. Relationships and analogies
7. Identification of contradictions and equivalence
8. Effectiveness of arguments.
CLAT Syllabus 2024- Quantitative Techniques
This section of CLAT Syllabus UG will include short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial or diagrammatic representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions. You will be required to derive information from such passages, graphs, or other representations, and apply mathematical operations to such information.

CLAT PG Syllabus 2024
Through CLAT PG Entrance Examthe candidates will be able to pursue post-graduate Law courses in Indian Universities.
CLAT PG Exam will be a 2-hour duration exam of 120 marks. This will include Multiple Choice Questions as well as Subjective Questions.
CLAT Exam Pattern 2023 for PG Course
CLAT Exam for PG Course will be a two-hour exam of 120 marks.
