Early Life
Benioff was born in New York City on September 25, 1970. He is the youngest of Stephen and Barbara Friedman’s children. His birth name is David Friedman. His parents are both Jewish, with roots in Germany and Russia. Benioff was raised in Manhattan with his older sisters. His father was the former head at Goldman Sachs.
Benioff was a student at the Collegiate School, New York City. It is considered one of the oldest schools the United States. After completing his studies, he enrolled at Dartmouth College. In 2001, Benioff published his first book under the pen name Jacqueline Benioff. This was his mother’s maiden title. Spike Lee directed the film adaptation of “25 th hour” which was released in 2002. Edward Norton starred.
Benioff published “When the Nines roll over (And Other Stories)” in 2004.
