The “Merc with a Mouth” is back!

The third installment of Marvel’s Deadpool is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of summer 2024, combining the irreverent humor of Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool with the highly anticipated return of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Set to premiere on July 26, 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine marks the first time mutants from the X-Men universe will be fully integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing on a host of new characters.

The film will also reportedly feature a number of cameos and Marvel Easter eggs, including surprise appearances by other characters, like Lady Deadpool​.

Apart from Reynolds and Jackman, notable additions to the Deadpool & Wolverine cast include Emma Corrin, who will play supervillain Cassandra Nova, and Matthew Macfadyen joining as Mr. Paradox.

Reynolds returns to his role as Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Wilson.

The anti-hero — known for his sarcastic humor and regenerative healing powers — is a former special forces operative turned mercenary who undergoes an experiment that gives him accelerated healing powers.

Reflecting on the role, Reynolds said on Lorraine in 2018, “I feel like Deadpool is the role I was born to play.”

The Canadian actor’s original claim to fame was his role in the 2002 slapstick comedy National Lampoon’s Van Wilder. He has since starred in numerous successful films, including The Proposal, Buried and Free Guy.

Reynolds is married to actress Blake Lively, whom he met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010. The couple married in 2012 and now share four children: James, Inez, Betty and Olin.

In addition to acting, Reynolds is involved in various business ventures. He co-owns Aviation American Gin, partly owns the network operator Mint Mobile and is co-owner of the Welsh soccer club Wrexham A.F.C. along with fellow actor Rob McElhenney.

Fans are delighted to have Jackman back, reprising his iconic role as Wolverine after taking seven years off.

The Australian actor first turned heads in 2000 when he portrayed Wolverine inX-Men, a character he played until 2017, when he retired from the role due to the physical strain.

Over his career, Jackman has showcased his versatility, starring in musicals like Les Misérables and The Greatest Showman, as well as dramatic roles in films such as The Prestige and Prisoners.

Jackman has expressed enthusiasm about returning to the role of Wolverine. “I’ve had a break, and I’ve been doing a lot of dance. I’ve been doing stage shows. And so when I came back to it, it was really fun,” Jackman told PEOPLE in May 2024.

On the personal front, Jackman married Deborra-Lee Furness in 1996, and they have two children together, Oscar and Ava. The former couple announced their separation in 2023.

Morena Baccarin as Vanessa

Morena Baccarin is back, returning to her role as Deadpool’s love interest, Vanessa.

Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and raised in New York City, the actress is well known for her diverse roles across television and film. Baccarin gained attention after her performance as Inara Serra in the sci-fi series Firefly and its subsequent movie, Serenity.

She gained further acclaim for her performances in Homeland, for which she received an Emmy nomination.

Baccarin is married to actor Ben McKenzie, whom she met on the set of Gotham. Since marrying in 2017, they have raised three children together.

Emma Corrin is set to take on the new role of Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The British actor has quickly become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. They gained widespread recognition for their portrayal of Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown, which earned them a Golden Globe and critical acclaim.

Corrin identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, sharing their journey with gender identity openly.

Beyond Deadpool & Wolverine, Corrin is involved in several highly-anticipated projects, including Nosferatu and the Cate Blanchett-produced film Peaches. The actor has also been in a relationship with fellow actor Rami Malek since 2023.

Rob Delaney returns in Deadpool & Wolverine as Peter, bringing back the lovable character from Deadpool 2.

The Boston-raised actor, comedian and writer had his breakthrough with the critically acclaimed TV show Catastrophe, which he co-wrote and starred in alongside Sharon Horgan.

Delaney lives in London with his wife, Leah, and their four children. The couple’s son, Henry, died in 2018 due to brain cancer, an experience Delaney has openly discussed to raise awareness and provide support to others facing similar challenges.

Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Paradox

Matthew Macfadyen joins the cast of Deadpool & Wolverine as Mr. Paradox, a new character shrouded in mystery.

The British actor had his breakout role in 2005 when he starred as Mr. Darcy in the film adaptation of Pride & Prejudice opposite Keira Knightley.

He gained further acclaim for his portrayal of Tom Wambsgans in the HBO series Succession, which earned him two back-to-back Emmys. His other significant works include roles in Frost/Nixon, Anna Karenina and The Three Musketeers.

Macfadyen is married to actress Keeley Hawes, whom he met on the set of the TV series Spooks. The couple married in 2004 and have two children, Maggie and Ralph.

Brianna Hildebrand returns to her breakout role as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The Texas-born actress’ fame soared after the original Deadpool premiered in 2016, and has gone on to act in Lucifer and Trinkets.

Hildebrand reprised her superhero role in Deadpool 2 and again for Deadpool & Wolverine, seemingly solidifying her status in the franchise.

Stefan Kapicic has made a name for himself with his iconic role as Colossus in the Deadpool franchise.

The Serbian actor first earned widespread recognition from the franchise, voicing and performing the motion capture for the metallic-skinned X-Man.

Beyond his role in Deadpool, Kapicic has had a varied acting career with roles in European films. Most recently, he starred in the 2023 supernatural horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter about Dracula.

Kapicic is married to the Serbian actress Ivana Horvat, and they have two children together.

Deadpool’s sarcastic and sharp-witted roommate, Blind Al, played by Leslie Uggams, has been a fan-favorite since her debut in the original Deadpool.

Uggams’ career spans several decades, beginning with her breakout role on the musical variety show Sing Along with Mitch in the early 1960s. She later won a Tony Award for her performance in Hallelujah, Baby! and earned an Emmy nomination for her work in the miniseries Roots.

Besides Deadpool, Uggams has acted in the 2024 sci-fi series Fallout and the Oscar-winning 2023 film American Fiction.

The actress has been married to her Australian-born husband, Grahame Pratt, since 1965, and they have two children together, Danielle and Justice.
