This French series is experiencing some international success thanks in particular to social networks and its charismatic cast, led by Benjamin Voisin and Lyna Khoudri, among others.
Qualified by some Internet users as “The Bear French”, this fiction mixing cuisine, sex and plots has attracted many Apple TV+subscribers. Inspired by the book Cooking for Kings: The Life of Antonin Carême – The First Celebrity ChefLent created by the author and actor Ian Kelly and Davide Serino, recounts the ascent of Antonin Carême, one of the first most famous leaders in the world.
In the cast of Lent, we also find Jérémie Renier, Alice Da Luz, Sigrid Bouaziz or Micha Lescot and Maud Wyler. The series is produced by Martin Bourboulon, known for the Eiffel films and the Diptych the three musketeers.
What is “Lent” is talking about?
In Napoleon's Europe in full upheaval, Antonin Carême, an orphan with an exceptional talent, dreams of only one thing: to become the most famous leader in the world and give his letters of nobility to a new art, gastronomy.
But for that, he will have to pass a pact with the devil and become a spy at the service of a Machiavellian man who, he raised politics to the rank of art: Talleyrand.
Lent takes us into a world where the misery and hardness of the kitchens rub shoulders with the opulence of mansions, where real feelings are damaged by pretenses, and where manipulation is queen.
Determined to get out of poverty and fulfill his dream, Lent can have everything – women, money, glory – but at what price: love? His life? His soul?
Is a season 2 planned for “Lent”?
Will the popularity of Lent allow him to obtain a season 2? It will be necessary to wait for official figures from the platform, now that the broadcast of the first season has ended on Apple TV+.

The Lent teams are waiting to know the return of the public before deciding, as explained by Martin Bourboulon: “We always want to extend the adventure with the characters we love And I want to tell you that there are steps before deciding to embark on seasons two that are important “.
He continues: “”And it's also a way to respect the public. We already offer to see the first season. Let's wait to see if he is happy with this season rather than telling him that there will be one behind. But in any case, ideas and envy, we are not lacking“.
Same story for Benjamin Voisin, who already welcomes the opportunity and the international opening of the series: “It is already too good to have a series of which we are happy and it is not often that a French series comes out in a hundred countries and which represents with great ambition what was Paris of the beginning of the 19th century, with these characters”.

The end of Lent leaves us on a possible opening since Lent, now as a couple with Agathe and Papa, has just opened his pastry.
