First images: Jason Momoa Impressive in his new series of epic action Chief of War – News Series

Jason Momoa is back on the small screen with a new epic historical drama. Here is the first trailer for the series “Chief of War”.

The collaboration between Jason Momoa and Apple TV+ continues with a new series developed by the actor for the platform after a fruitful first collaboration. From 2019 to 2022, Jason Momoa was the hero of the three seasons fiction of Steven Knight.

He embodied “the best role of his career according to him”, that of Baba Voss, the patriarch of a human clan having lost the sense of sight in a distant future, which will make everything protect his own against a powerful queen who wants to destroy them.

The new series of epic action Jason Momoa

Three years after this first series, Jason Momoa is back with Apple TV+ with a brand new promising fiction, which is particularly close to his heart. Here is the first teaser and the first information on Chief of War.

Scriptwriter, producer and headliner, Jason Momoa returns with this new series he created with Thomas Pa' Sibbbett for Apple TV+. The actor also realizes the first episode, of this series in nine episodes, inspired by real facts.

Apple TV+ has just unveiled a first teaser from Chief of War and this historic drama promises to be an adventure as epic as it is moving. The first images are breathtaking and it could well be a new success for Jason Momoa.

An important project for Jason Momoa

This fiction, which recounts the unification and colonization of Hawaii through the eyes of the Aboriginal people, is the project of a life for Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa' Sibbbett, both of Hawaiian origin.

They called upon mainly Polynesian actors, such as Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett), Te ao o Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, Kaina Makua, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale'o, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainei Kinimaka and Te Kohe Tuhaka.

Jason Momoa also plays alongside the New Zealand actress, originally from the Tonga kingdom, Luciane Buchanan, who is notably known for her role as Rose Larkin in the Netflix the Night Agent mini-series.

Chief of War takes place in the Hawaii archipelago and follows the warrior Ka'iana (Jason Momoa), while he tries to unify the islands before Western colonization at the end of the 18th century. Note that the soundtrack of Chief of War is composed by Hans Zimmer and James Everingham.

The first two episodes of “Chief of War” will be available on Friday August 1ᵉʳ 2025 on Apple TV+, followed by a new episode every Friday until September 19.
