Fitbit Inspire HR Tips and Tricks

Fitbit remains the leader in fitness trackers and with good reason. Fitbit InspireHR was an affordable portable fitness tracker just a few short years ago, but hasn’t shed any of its flair. Fitbit’s no-frills tracking and its sleek, sleek design allowed it to lower prices without losing any features.

This device has some great features that you can explore. These are our top Fitbit InspireHR tips and tricks that will help you get the most out of your fitness tracker.

Fitbit Inspire H Setup

The first step after unpacking the Inspire HR is to connect it with your smartphone and add it to your Fitbit account. Download and install Fitbit from either the iOS App Store, or Google Play Store. Open the Fitbit App and select Join Fitbit. You can create a brand new Fitbit account, or connect an existing one if you have already created one. You can create your Fitbit account by following the instructions on-screen or you can enter your existing account details.

You can add your Inspire HR device to Fitbit by clicking the Account icon in the top-right corner after signing into your Fitbit account. Configure device, then select Inspire HR. To pair your tracker with your smartphone, follow the instructions on screen.

Fitbit Inspire HR – How to Sync it

In the settings of the Fitbit device, you can choose whether or not to sync your devices automatically. Tap the InspireHR device icon in the upper left corner of the Fitbit App. The toggle can be used to disable or enable the synchronization for all days feature.

You should sync your data at least one time a day if you disable the feature of all-day sync. Open the Fitbit App and your Inspire HR syncs when you’re near it. Manual sync is also possible by selecting the InspireHR device icon at the upper left and scrolling to the Sync now section.

Sleep tracking: How it works

Inspire HR does not disappoint. The Inspire HR comes with the ability to track sleep. It is important to track your sleep because you can see how well you slept and for how long. Sleep is essential for recovery after exercise. Wear your InspireHR to bed, and the device will automatically start tracking sleep when it detects you have fallen asleep.

Screen Wake: How it works

Screen Wake lets you turn the watch on when you lift your wrist. Press and hold the Inspire side button for a few seconds to access the quick settings. You can swipe up and down until you find the screen wake-up (bulb icon). Press screen wake-up and toggle from off to on.

Quick settings

Hold down the button to open the Quick Settings screen. You can also toggle the notifications, check your battery, or turn on the screen. When the feature is active, the icons will be bright and when it is not on they are dark.

Tracker Menus: How to return back

Inspire HR only has one button that serves as the back button. After you have navigated through settings and apps, you can click on the side button several times to return you back to the clock.

Turning on/off automatic exercise tracking

The automatic exercise tracking will track your exercise automatically, without you having to do anything. Others prefer to avoid this tracking because of its simplicity. Open the Fitbit App and navigate to the dashboard. To display the list of auto-tracking activities, press the exercise tile followed by the gear icon. You can turn the automatic recognition off by tapping on each activity.

Start, pause and stop your exercise

You must first drag the clock down on the screen to Workout. Select Workouts and then move up or down the screen to choose your desired exercise. When you’re ready to start, click the Launch Button.

You can pause your activity by clicking the side button once you have started exercising. The activity will be on hold until the InspireHR screen is pressed. Click the side button again to finish the exercise when you’re done.

Add new workouts to your Tracker

You can customize the six exercises included in Inspire HR to meet your specific needs. Scroll down to Exercise shortcuts. This section allows you to add exercises, delete them and rearrange the exercises. In this section, you can configure the activities by choosing whether or not you wish to receive hints when your target is near.

Exercise and Health Goals

Fitbit allows you to set daily health and fitness goals such as exercise, sleep, diet, activity and nutrition. In the app, you can change these values by selecting the Account icon at the top right and scrolling down to the goals section. Choose the goal that you wish to modify and edit the information. This new information will then be synced to your device the next time you sync.

Your daily statistics

You can view the health and fitness statistics by swiping up the InspireHR dial. Each statistic will display a ring to indicate your progress towards a specific goal if you have set one in the Fitbit App. Slide your finger upwards to browse through:

  • You can also read about the importance of Notifying Others
  • Heartbeat
  • Calories burned
  • Minutes Active

Downloading a clock face

You can download new clock faces by opening the Fitbit App on your smartphone and tapping the icon in the upper left corner of the screen. To see the available clock faces, press Clock Faces. You may have noticed a clock that you like. To make changes, tap to sync and install your watch. You can see the applications that are already on your Inspire HR by pressing the apps, but not download any new ones.

Check your battery’s life

Battery meter is not included in the default clock of Inspire HR. Press and hold the Side Button to get the Quick Setting screen, where the Battery Gauge is located.

Configuring notifications

Inspire HR allows you to receive notifications for text messages, phone calls and app updates. Tap the InspireHR device icon in the upper left corner of the app to control the alerts that you see. Notifications can be accessed by pressing the button and using it to toggle notifications for calendar events, texts, or calls. Select App Notifications to change the mobile app notification settings. Then, choose which notifications you want sent to your tracker. The Quick Settings menu can be accessed by holding down the side button.

Reset the Inspire HR back to its factory defaults

You must do a factory-reset if you are returning your InspireHR activity tracker to the manufacturer or selling it. This will erase all data from the device. Swipe down to open the settings application on Inspire HR. Tap Setting and then Remove user data. To remove your data from the Activity Tracker, follow the directions.

Inspire HR – How to Restart it

When something happens and your tracker gets frozen, knowing how to reboot the Inspire HR is a great help. Connect the Inspire to the charger cable. Hold the tracker button for 5 seconds and then let go. The tracker will restart once you see the smiley face on the Inspire HR and it vibrates.
