Early reports suggest that Lucidi was attempting to scale one of the city’s tallest skyscrapers when the fatal accident occurred. Authorities were called to the scene around 5:30 am after a passerby discovered Lucidi’s body on a platform near the base of the building.

Upon arrival, emergency services found Lucidi’s French ID card and a camera, presumably used to document the climb. Authorities have since reviewed the footage, though details of what was found have not been released to the public.

A spokesperson for the Hong Kong police stated, “An investigation into this tragic incident is underway. At this time, we ask the public to respect the family’s privacy as they grieve this devastating loss.”

Fans of Lucidi have begun leaving tributes online, sharing videos of his previous stunts and expressing disbelief and sadness over his untimely death. His fearless approach to life had garnered him millions of followers across various social media platforms, and many see his loss as a tremendous blow to the extreme sports community.

Lucidi’s family released a brief statement through a representative, saying, “We are heartbroken by the loss of Remi. He was a loving son, brother, and a remarkable individual who pursued his passion without reservation. We thank everyone for their support and ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

Hong Kong officials have renewed calls for stricter regulations concerning extreme sports and urban exploration, urging citizens and tourists to follow existing laws and prioritize safety.

Lucidi’s death serves as a sobering reminder of the risks involved in extreme sports, particularly in the practice of urban exploration. The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the role of social media in promoting dangerous behavior, and whether more should be done to regulate content that encourages high-risk activities.

The French Consulate in Hong Kong has been in touch with Lucidi’s family and is assisting in the repatriation of his remains. Further details of the investigation will be released as they become available.

Remi Lucidi, whose bold spirit and adventurous lifestyle inspired many, leaves behind a legacy that will not be soon forgotten. His death is a somber caution to those who push the boundaries of human capability, underlining the fine line between exhilaration and danger.
