Did you know that Michael Madsen, died this July 3 at the age of 67, could have played the first role of a film directed by a French humorist? Except that he did not, but then not at all want!
From Quentin Tarantino to … Laurent Baffie! It is not a joke: the American actor Michael Madsen, disappeared this Thursday, July 3 at the age of 67, really carried out this great improbable artistic gap! You don’t believe it? We explain to you …
In 2003, the humorist and host Laurent Baffie unveiled the feature film Les Clefs de Bagnole, a completely offbeat comedy, written and produced by him, in which he embodied a man in research … of his Bagnole keys! An absurd and irreverent, really funny nugget, in which he shares the poster with Daniel Russo.
Very good, but Michael Madsen, in all of this? The star, famous for his roles in Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill or Donnie Brasco, is one of the very many personalities playing their own roles in the long opening scene of the Bagnole keys. A long and brilliant introductory sequence that sees Baffie trying to offer the greatest French producers to accompany her film and to the leading hexagonal stars to hold the show.
But to his dismay, for several hilarious minutes, Laurent Baffie sees herself overwhelmed each time, often with vehemence, by producers and actors. It’s clear: nobody wants their Bagnole keys! And neither does Michael Madsen who, if he does not appear in the film version, is one of the “refusals” cut to the editing available in the DVD bonuses of the film, as you can see below.

The appearance of Michael Madsen is furtive (two seconds!) But his words towards Laurent Baffie have the merit of being clear. “Get out from there, it’s no!”declares the Hollywood star, not at all motivated to play in front of the French camera, in the same way (in the bonuses) as his compatriot Andy Garcia, but also Éric & Ramzy, Vincent Cassel, Bernard Tapie, Christophe Lambert, Romain Duris or even Alain Delon.
Finally, it should be noted that a scene of the Bagnole keys by Laurent Baffie has an indirect link with Michael Madsen. During a hold-up scene, Daniel Russo evokes Quentin Tarantino. A Daniel Russo who worked on Reservoir Dogs (with Madsen headlining), lending his voice to the character of Harvey Keitel in the French version of the film.
