Treehouses are no doubt the trending concept in architecture. If you are a fan of these small houses built above the ground, then you will surely like the Gibbs Hollow treehouse built by US-based ArtisTree a few years back. Designed as an extension of an existing home, it includes outdoor living, lounge, and creative space for a family of four in Austin, Texas.

Inspired by the shape of a beehive, this 320-square-feet treehouse has uniquely patterned wood cladding on the outside. There is also an outdoor deck and 100-square-feet hammock that is nestled into the twirling branches of the Live Oak tree supporting the treehouse.

Standing on a single metal pillar, the Gibbs Hollow treehouse looks like an octagonal box hanging up in the air around two trees. It is not designed as a housing unit rather a unique gathering spot for the Cobb family and creative space for the kids to explore their relationship with nature. This treehouse blends perfectly well with the surroundings.
