At the end of its first week of broadcasting, “new day”, the new M6 soap opera, offers us a memorable scene at the end of episode 5 of Friday, July 4. The creators of the series return to our microphone on this sequence.

Broadcast from Monday to Friday at 8:35 p.m. since June 30, a new day is the new appointment of the wealthy aficionados. Carried by Héléna Noguerra, Jean-Baptiste Maunier, Marion Aymé and Bruno Solo, among others, the program is located in the sumptuous setting of a 4-star hotel in Montpellier. At the head of this area, we find Louise Bartoli, a woman of grip who took over the reins of the family business after the disappearance of her father, a year earlier.
She is supported by her son, Gabriel, and her companion Aurèle, with whom she convinced it in the first episode. But his happiness is short -lived: Théa, her niece, just a graduate in hotels, is determined to make a place for herself at the hotel. Even if Louise and her mother have been cold for years. More serious, a crow targeted the hotel and in particular Louise. After provoking an explosion during the wedding ceremony of Louise and Aurèle, he lealed an intimate video between Gabriel and Kim, one of the waitresses of the restaurant in the estate.
New day
A shock cliffhanger for episode 5
In episode 5, Louise returns her son to protect him from the crow. But that is not enough, since Gabriel receives a mysterious message inviting him to solve an enigma. With the help of Théa, he understands that he must go to his grandfather’s boat, on which a message has been tagged: “Hotel Bartoli, 10/02/34 07/17/25”. The crow therefore planned to strike two weeks later. In addition, Théa, without saying it in Gabriel, finds the phone of Aurèle on the boat. Could he be the culprit?
While the noose tightens around the Bartoli, the episode ends on a sequence in which Louise is about to take a shower. But she discovers with horror that it is not water that flows, but blood!
Louise at the Devil’s Ball
A chilling scene at the crossroads of the Soap and the horror film which only makes one desire: to see the rest!
To our microphone*, Mohamed Benyekhlef, co-creator of new day, returned to this shock sequence, which “Defines the type of Soap that we want to do on this series.” He says: “On Soap and Thriller intrigues, we wanted something a little baroque and fun in what we write. […] These are moments when we say to ourselves’OMG, wow, they dared to go so far. How are they going to make it credible, but also moving, how will they stay up to the characters? ‘ And it is a real work to be able to push the sliders as high, while not losing sight of our characters, and by keeping them as identifiable as possible ”.

It is also thanks to the confidence of M6 and the freedom that the channel granted them that the creators and the scriptwriters of the soap was able to dare to dare such a scene, recalls Benyekhlef: “When we made our first narrative ark, which is therefore on this crow, the first return of the chain, it was: ‘Let go. Really, let go, have fun, go to entertainment. ‘ And it’s a bit like the editorial line of M6, it must be fun and pop. Suddenly, we try a lot of things. ”
His partner Mari Mouazan, co-creator of the soap opera, adds: “To actually have Héléna Noguerrafinally Louise, in a blood shower … It was really too good to be able to go so far, and it applied to all the writing stages. It’s powerful. “
Geoffrey Bidaut, director of the dialogues, admits that he feared that, after the pilot, the chain asks them to calm the game later: “Generally in daily life, a scene like this, we would have been told ‘We’re still going to diminish, it must not be too scary’ ‘. And this last image, I will not say that it is iconic, because it may not mark the history of French television, but in any case, I find that it comes out of something iconized ”.
And, even if they did not want to reveal too much about future intrigues, they assure that many shocks are still to come in new day. This promises!
New day, Monday to Friday at 8:35 p.m. on M6, and in replay on M6+.
