At the end of February, actor Nicholas Galitzine shared the first photo of the next live-action film The masters of the universe, whose filming had just entered production. The image showed in close -up his sword and the muscle of his shoulder, revealing a little glimpse of his appearance in the role of Prince Adam, alias Musclor.
Four months later, he reoffends and we can see his back silhouette on a back on a new photo from the set, marking the end of the shooting, accompanied by the following legend:
“” “Well, the masters of the universe is over. It was an honor to take responsibility for playing Adam and Musclor. It was the role of my life and I invested it thoroughly. I don't have much to show you, but I am so proud of the film that we made. Thank you to our incredible team and our actors for their hard work.»
The film, directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, features Camila Mendes in the role of Teela, Alison Brie in that of Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto in that of Skeletor, Idris Elba in that of Duncan/Master of Arms and Morena Baccarin in that of the witch.
In the casting, James Purefoy are also present in that of King Randor, Charlotte Riley in that of Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson in that of Dentos (Trap Jaw), Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in that of Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson in that of fisto, Kojo Attah in that of Triclops (Tri-Klops), Jon Xue Zhang in that of Bélios (Ram-Man), Sasheer Zamata in that of Suzie and Christian Vunipola in that of Hussein.
The story of the feature film follows Prince Adam, who crashed on Earth aboard a spacecraft at the age of 10 and was separated from his sword of magic power, the only link with his original land, Eternia. After having found it almost two decades later, Adam was transported through space to defend his native planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, he will first have to unravel the mysteries of his past and become musclor, the most powerful man in the universe.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Escape Artists and Mattel Films, the masters of the universe will be released in the United States on June 5, 2026. The film has not yet been released in France.
