About Triglav National Park

Best time to visit
The best season to visit Triglav National Park is summer. Due to heavy snowfall and cold waves, the park remains closed during cold season and opened in summer. This year it will open in May.

- Triglavska Bistrica Trail: The Triglavska Bistrica Trail starts from the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana. This route is 12 km long and will take you approximately 3 hours and is a one-way route.
- Soka Trail: This is the first route to be built in this park. The Soča Trail is considered one of the most beautiful trails with many cultural monuments. The trail starts from a hut located at the source of the Soka. It is a 25 km long route and will take 7 hours to complete.
- Goreljek Bog Nature Trail: The Goreljek Big Nature Trail starts from Penzien Jelka, Pokljuka. It is a circular path which is approximately 1 km long and will take 45 minutes to complete.
- Mostnica gorge: This valley is famous for its rocks that resemble elephant heads. Mostnica gorge starts from Stara Fujina, which is 5.5 km long and will take 2 hours to complete.

How to reach Triglav National Park?

By car: Parking for cars is available within walking distance of the park. But keep in mind, do not park motorcycles nearby as it is prohibited. There are several ways to reach Triglav National Park by car. It can be entered via Italian roads via the Predel Pass or from Bovec via Cluj Fortress. Or one can choose to come here via the Tolminka Trough. The other road to entry goes through the upper Sava valley.
by bus: Being the oldest and major park, Triglav National Park has its own merits. You will not have trouble with transportation as public buses run frequently on the route. If you are traveling by bus, catch the bus from Ljubljana and it will cost you around 6 EUR. The second bus route is from Bohinj and will cost 5 euros for adults and free for children under 10.
by train: Well, trains are considered to be one of the best sources to reach Triglav National Park in terms of your convenience. From Kazan, you can catch a train from Lecce Railway Station and then catch a local bus to reach your destination.
