Hot bloom cold brew is for people who wish it tasted better

If you are wondering how to make better iced coffee, then hot bloom cold drink may be just the trick you are looking for.

Don’t like cold brew? You are not alone In fact, there is a whole group of coffee drinkers who are not fans – especially because it is made up of only cold water and hot water.

I believe that people who do not like cold brew dislike it because of its low acidity, full body and lack of complexity, ”says Parlor Coffee teacher Marcos Iglesias.

The good news is, if you are not a cold brew lover, there is no stopping your coffee exploration. There is a hot brewing method that can serve as an alternative to the regular official ‘cold brew’. It is called Hot Bloom Cold Brew.

What is hot blossom cold brew?



Says Iglesias, “The cold decoction of hot blooms involves a normal cold drink process, which uses a ‘bloom’ of hot water to keep the coffee from being slightly more complex and acidity.”

How to make Hot Blum Cold Brew

1. First of all, you want to take a cold brew maker and fill it with 30 grams of coffee.

2. Then, beat the coffee briefly (for 20 to 40 seconds) with boiling water to begin the initial extraction.

3. “After” is another traditional cold drinking process, says Belanich, where you soak the beans in cold water for 12 to 16 hours. During this phase, you can leave your coffee sit on the kitchen counter or in the fridge to soak.

“While cold brewing is more forgiving, you’re throwing the needle here a little bit, because hot extraction is much faster than cold,” says Belanich. “So, depending on the amount of time you devote to the Hot Bloom step, you’ll need to adjust your cold move accordingly.”

“It can produce slightly brisk acidity,” says Iglesias, making Hot Bloom cold brew. But, since the end product may be similar to cold drinks, Iglesias recommends making regular iced coffee if you don’t like your results after making hot blum cold brew.



“If you’re already going through the trouble to heat your water, then why not try the whole brew with it, it will probably produce a fantastic, juicy cup of iced coffee that’s less than 3 percent of the total time “Takes to make cold drinks,” says Iglesias.
