Made of plastic or glass, screen protectors help protect our device’s screen from scratches or chips. However, there may be times when you want to remove your screen protector whether it is damaged or in perfect condition. Here’s how to easily remove a screen protector.

What is a screen protector?
A screen protector is a thin sheet of plastic or glass placed over the screen of a device to prevent damage. While plastic screen protectors are less likely to break, they don’t tend to be as transparent as a glass protector. While it’s always possible to damage your device’s screen with a screen protector installed, it’s much less likely to happen.

How to remove a screen protector
In many cases, removing a screen protector does not require any additional tools beyond a single fingernail; However, some tools that can help you with the removal include a toothpick, credit card, toothpick, or business card. We also recommend that you have an alcohol dampened cloth and a microfiber cloth to clean the screen after the protector is removed, but this is not a requirement.
Step 1: First, try to gently lift a corner of the screen protector. Use a fingernail, toothpick, credit card, or opening pick to carefully pry the screen protector off the smartphone or tablet.
2nd step: Once the corner is lifted, we recommend that you use a credit card or business card, slide it under the screen protector, and move it gently until the screen protector releases.
Step 3: Once the screen protector is detached from the screen, carefully lift it off the surface and then discard it.
Step 4: Finish the process by cleaning your screen with an alcohol wipe and a microfiber cloth; a soft, damp cloth can also be used. Do not try to clean your screen with chemicals.
To note: When removing a glass screen protector, be extra careful as the glass may crack. You can choose to wear a pair of gloves when removing a glass screen protector for extra protection. Discard the protector as you would any piece of glass.
Manage strong adhesives
In some situations, you may find it difficult to place your fingernail or a tool under the corner of a screen protector to pry it off – in which case we have two recommendations. You may want to try using a piece of strong tape to pry off the screen protector; To do this, place the adhesive tape on the corner of the screen protector and then slowly pull it upwards.
Another option is to use a little heat from a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive that holds the screen protector; in this case, leave the hairdryer only on the low setting and focus on your device for about 15 seconds. When using a hairdryer, don’t focus on one spot; move the heat focus all over the screen protector.
