Changing up your wardrobe shouldn’t be stressful, so to help you we’ll show you how to transition your wardrobe for spring, in a headache free way.
So it’s stopped snowing and started raining, which means we must be getting into spring. Although the change in seasons seems like a huge thing in adverts and films, it’s not such a big deal in real life, and the last thing you want to do is go out and buy all new clothes.
Luckily it’s not too difficult to sort out a new lighter weight wardrobe with just a few tips and changes.
Pack Away Your Winter Wardrobe
Ok, so despite the rain and wind, and more rain, as long as you’re still layering properly you can pack away that trusty parka or peacoat which helped you through the worst of the winter.
Make sure your coats are packed away properly though. A heavy-duty hanger will help them maintain their shape while being stored. Heavy wool knitwear can also get mucked up if not stored properly, so make sure it’s laundered and stored properly so it’s good to go when you need it next year.
Switch Up Your Outerwear
As we’ve mentioned already, we’re nearing the stage where rocking your winter coat will just be excessive. It’s more practical to move towards cropped and lightweight styles so you don’t overheat.
Bomber and denim jackets are versatile pieces that will go with most of your spring wardrobe, and can be layered up easily if there’s a sudden cold snap.
Restyle the Staples
You might have spent the winter layering that trusty navy knit over the classic blue Oxford shirt, but now’s the time to showcase each piece separately and restyle them. Whether you decide to team them with spring-ready outwear instead of your big overcoat or light blue denim instead of wool trousers, you’ll find that the minor changes present you with a number of different season-appropriate outfit options.
Experiment with Prints and Colour
Unless you happened to invest in either a bright yellow, orange, pink or green jacket to get you through the winter this year, you might not feel the urge to inject some colour into your wardrobe as much as those who lived in all black, dark blues and greys.
However, there’s no better time to start experimenting with colour and prints than when the balmier weather starts lurking to give your muted outfits a brighter and more eye-catching edge. Whether you’re pining for pastels or a fan of florals, add as much or as little as you’re comfortable with to bid farewell to the winter and welcome in the spring.
