The end of squid game – the most seen Netflix series of all time – is both tragic and inspiring (in a way), our protagonist sacrificing his life and the main antagonist changing the opinion accordingly.
Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae) committed suicide so that the baby of Jun-Hee/Player 222 (Jo Yu-Ri) and Myung-Gi/Player 333 (Yim Si-Wan) is the last survivor of this deadly competition. Then, in-ho alias the front man (lee byung-hun) comes to seek the child in the arena and ensures that she is safe, giving him all of the earnings, or 45.6 billion wons, at the end of the last episode.
Another end
The creator and director of the series, Hwang Dong-Hyuk, explains to Variety that when he started planning the second and third seasons of his series – which he initially planned for a single season – he had imagined a different end. “”When I had a vague idea of the type of story I wanted to tell in the seasons 2 and 3, I was actually a different end in mind“Explains Hwang.
“”Then, as I sold out in the writing process, that I created my characters, that I posted the basics and the main lines of the story, and that I drew the map of the evolution of the character of Gi-Hun, I realized that it was not that this story should end, and that this end was better, or more appropriate, for this evolution. A conclusion … optimistic?
The choices that Gi-Hun ends up making clearly affected the Front Man in a way he had not planned in season 2, when he pretended to be a player in the games and tried to prove to Gi-Hun that humanity was intrinsically selfish and bad.

She appears to him in a vision when he is about to kill other players in their sleep, after the Front Man gave him a knife as the only chance of protecting himself and protecting the baby before the last test that could kill them both. When he sees Sae-Byeok, she persuades him not to do it, saying to him: “You are not that kind of person.“”
