Luke Grimes spoke of the upcoming release of “Y: Marshals”, the spin-off series of “Yellowstone” centered on the character of Kayce Dutton.
Last December, Yellowstone unveiled his last episode. At the time of filming, Luke Grimes thought that he would never have the opportunity to play the role of Kayce again. But a new project will allow the Benjamin of the Dutton clan to return to a new series entitled Y: Marshals.

“The last day of filming, I thought it was my last day in Kayce's skin. For me, it was over”he confides to our colleagues from the magazine People. “I spent seven years to play a character that I will never see again, apart from seeing his hat and his jacket in my closet.”
Ready to turn the Yellowstone page, Luke Grimes was contacted a few months later about this spin-off. Kayce is not the only character to be offered his own series, since Rip and Beth Dutton will also appear in a series of Yellowstone, expected for the end of the year.
What characters from Yellowstone will be back?
The end of Yellowstone provided a very satisfactory conclusion to the history of Kayce according to Luke Grimes. It is therefore with a certain distrust that the American actor welcomed the announcement of this spin-off project. It was therefore essential for him that Kayce's return was made in the best conditions.
“The idea that was presented to me is really, really good and very interesting. She really hooked me, and I think she would also hang the public”he admits, adding to the passage that other characters from Yellowstone could appear in Y: Marshals. “There will be a few familiar faces, but also many new faces, so we'll see what it will give.”
Among the Yellowstone characters expected in this spin-off, how not to mention Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille), the wife of Kayce, and their son Tate (Brecken Merrill)? There is no doubt that fans would also like to see Rip and Beth appear in this spin-off, or other emblematic characters such as Thomas Rainwater or one of the Yellowstone Cowboys.
The shooting of the series will start soon, for a broadcast in early 2026 on the CBS channel in the United States-and probably on Paramount+ in France.
