IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2024, Check Paper 1 and Paper 2 Exam Scheme

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Recruitment Process (CRP) every year for the recruitment of Clerical Cadre (CRP Clerk) vacancies. Under this, an examination is organized to select eligible candidates for the Clerk post in various banks nationwide.

The IBPS Clerk Written Test is taken in two stages: Preliminary and Main examinations. To succeed in the examination, candidates must prepare well for various subjects. In both of the subjects, the topics that are given special attention are:

  • Reasoning
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Language

Once candidates pass the Preliminary Test, they can sit for the Mains Exam. The IBPS Clerk Mains Examination is composed of four sections, detailed as follows:

  • Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Language
  • General/ Financial Awareness

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Scheme

The IBPS Clerk preliminary examination is held online, with candidates given 1 hour (20 minutes per section) to finish the exam. Candidates must pass the three tests by achieving cut-off marks set by IBPS. A sufficient number of candidates from each category, as determined by IBPS based on requirements, will be shortlisted for the Online Main examination.

Understanding the IBPS Clerk Prelims exam pattern is crucial for candidates. The preliminary exam consists of three sections totalling 100 marks. It is an objective-type online test for one hour for the candidates. Those who pass this stage by meeting the IBPS-specified cut-off are qualified to take the mains exam. The prelims are divided into English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.
