Ici tout commence: Avy Marciano Responds to Fan Criticism of Paul

Paul has become the new villain fans love to hate in Ici tout commence. Currently airing on TF1, the character played by Avy Marciano is drawing sharp criticism from viewers online—especially after causing Marc (Stéphane Blancafort) to break up with Rose (Vanessa Demouy), sending Marc spiraling back into alcoholism.

Fans Turn Against Paul

On social media, Paul—who seems willing to manipulate anyone to win back his ex—is far from popular. The wave of negativity hasn’t gone unnoticed. In a recent interview with Télé-Loisirs, Avy Marciano addressed the backlash his character has received from fans of the series.

“I’ve heard about some pretty harsh comments regarding Paul,” Marciano admitted. “It actually amuses me, but yes—it does get a reaction. What surprises me most is how deeply viewers get into the story and sometimes blur the lines between fiction and reality.”

He adds,

“I’m curious to understand what’s going through a viewer’s mind to react so intensely. But ultimately, I take it as a compliment. When people post harsh or negative comments about Paul, it means the character is believable.”

Marciano Surprised by Paul’s Transformation

Previously known for playing Sacha in Plus belle la vie on France 3, Marciano also commented on how drastically Paul has changed since his arrival nearly a year ago.

“At first, I was surprised by how violently the character shifted,” he said. “But once the surprise wore off, I actually found it really interesting.”

Despite the fact that Paul’s dark turn is far from his own nature or usual type of role, the actor embraced the experience:

“It’s not the kind of character I usually play, and it’s not in my nature at all—but it’s been a real pleasure exploring the darker sides of human behavior. I really enjoyed it, and more importantly, I found it fascinating.”

So, what’s next for Paul in Ici tout commence? One thing’s for sure: fans will be watching—and reacting.
