International Day of the Older Person – 1 October

International Day of Older Person is observed on 1 October every year. It was passed by UN General Assembly on 14 December 1990 and designated 1 October as International Day of Old Persons. The purpose to celebrate this day is to raise awareness about the problems faced by older persons.
