Dak Sevaks are usually Posted in Departmental offices such as sub-post office, head post office, etc.

Dak Sevaks might do labour in the sorting offices of the Railway Mail Service (RMS).
Receipt 1 Dispatch assignment of mails entrusted to Dak Sevaks in mail offices. 1.In the Main offices, mail bags will be delivered by the carriers of mail offices. Mail bags received by mail offices will be dispatched by them. Transhipment of mail bags, if any, will be made by them.
Dak Sevaks will render assistance to the Post Masters/Sub Postmasters in managing the Departmental Post Offices (below Head Post Office) ahead of Visit Of Ministers, Funerals/Birth Anniversaries Of Freedom Fighters, Elections And Procession Period/E Holidays.
