After only two weeks of broadcasting, Ironheart ended on Disney+ after a fairly exciting revelation and a most amazing cliffhanger who opens the door to a season 2.

Ironheart is the surprise of the summer that we did not expect. Despite a blatant case of review Bombing, the Marvel series has managed to get its faces by introducing a character particularly awaited in the universe: the devil Mephisto. And it was Sacha Baron Cohen who was chosen to interpret it.
In the last episode, the Devil de Marvel offers a market in Riri (Dominique Thorne): in exchange for something “Who doesn’t miss it”, He can bring back his deceased best friend to life. And against all odds … she accepts.
This choice clearly opens the door to a season 2 of Ironheart, in which our heroine should undergo the consequences of this pact and possibly go in pursuit of mephisto to save … his soul. Because it is this kind of exchange that she made, despite herself. And we imagine our heroine ask for help from a certain supreme wizard to go and take a look in hell.
In Marvel’s plans?
But now, Marvel’s ways are sometimes impenetrable. Especially since Ironheart had a fairly complicated development. The series was shot in 2023 and its broadcast was repelled twice. Meanwhile, the House of Ideas has changed its strategy – by reducing its programs on Disney+.
On the big screen side too, there is change. At the end of 2023, Marvel chose to turn Jonathan Majors, when he had just been found guilty of assault. However, he had to play Kang the Conqueror, the new big bad guy after Thanos. Kevin Feige and his teams therefore had to find a withdrawal solution in the person of Dr Fatalis. The latter will be introduced in the next Avengers, entitled Doomsday, expected in 2026.
This character allows Robert Downey Jr – Ex -Iron Man – to make his comeback at Marvel. What is interesting with this fatalis is that it is a technology genius that does not hesitate to use magic to achieve its ends. A theme that has just been discussed in Ironheart and which allows Marvel to hang up the wagons.
Riri Williams at the Avengers?
It would therefore not be surprising to see Riri alongside Avengers in the cinema, even if his participation has not yet been confirmed. The series teams are to date in the vagueness as to the future of the series. If the end opens the door to a season 2, it has not been ordered.
Asked about the subject by Varietyproducer Ryan Coogler (and director of Black Panther) revealed: “I don’t know about it. I am here for all that Chinaka (Hodge, the showrunner Editor’s note) reserves us and everything that Kevin Feige reserves us, you see what I mean. I think the public will appreciate this end and I can’t wait to see these characters again.”
If there is a character that we are sure to see again, it is Mephisto. This king of disguise is almost untouchable: “You never know where Mephisto can hide, because one of his powers in comics is to literally change shape. Introducing it into the MCU makes him a very powerful tool, because it is a key that opens many doors.” said the creator of Ironheart.
