Is the coming of Cédric Klapisch's future a good film? Here are the first spectator reviews on this feature film with Suzanne Lindon and Vassili Schneider! – Actus cinema

“The coming of the future”, released this Thursday, and presented out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival, is a good film? Discover an overview of the first criticisms posted by the spectators on Allociné.

The coming of the future, the 15th feature film by Cédric Klapisch, was released yesterday at the cinema. The whole team was in Cannes for a selection of the film out of competition. It is the first time in his career that the filmmaker has this honor.

Did the film convince its first spectators? The medium press is 3.4 out of 5 (out of 17 titles), while Internet users award him an almost equal average note, at 4.1 out of 5, thanks to the 162 people* who have noted it to date (including 32 internet users).

The history of the coming of the future takes place in two eras, 2024 and 1895. Today, in 2024, around thirty people from the same family learn that they will receive a house abandoned for years. Four of them, Seb, Abdel, Céline and Guy are responsible for making it a inventory. These distant “cousins” will then discover hidden treasures in this old house. They will find themselves in the footsteps of a mysterious Adèle who left her native Normandy, at 20 years old.

This Adèle was found in Paris in 1895, when this city was in the midst of an industrial and cultural revolution. For the four cousins, this introspective journey in their genealogy will make them discover this particular moment of the end of the 19th century when photography was invented and impressionism was born. This face to face between the two eras 2024 and 1895 will question their present and their ideals and tell the meaning of: the coming of the future.

“”Very good time“”

Internet users liked the mixture of times, the scenario and the actors.

Cinono1 (5/5): “It was beautiful, almost wonderful. Cédric Klapisch and his tone focused on derision and lightness is also a large plastic artist. It has a sense of frame, rhythm. In a magnificent staging, he crossed the Paris from 1895 and that of 2025, shows the timeless lives and the cycles of eras. This trip to the past to decipher the present is tasty.“”

Nathalietbct (4.5 / 5): “A delight from start to finish! I loved following the quest for heirs these days. I loved walking in the Paris of 1892 with Adèle mounted in Paris to find her mother of which she knows nothing but a portrait and the address of a notary. The passages from one era to another are full of poetry, the actors make us believe in this moving story of parentage. I discover Suzanne Lindon and Abraham Wapler, both very talented, a lot of presence. The looks of Abraham Wapler, Waouh. “

Bart Sampson (4.5 / 5): “Adored. Klapisch improves like good wine with a super scenario, very well directed actors and this pleasure of living together which does not leave its films from the Spanish inn.“”

Joce2012 (4/5): “Very good film, very good scenario that makes us surf between the past and the present through supports such as photos, paintings, a house. All these memories of the past that show that life is continuity. Very good time. “

Some spectators regret a few lengths.

“A pleasant round trip present/past”

FableGrand (3.5 / 5): “Very good klapisch movie. A story of succession that brings us to Monet. It is pretty much done despite some lengths. The actors are excellent. I had a great time.“”

Cat P. (3/5): “A pleasant round trip present/past. Everything is not very subtle, nor of a sustained rhythm, but we have a good time, as always with Mr. Klapisch. Cinema is beautiful!“”

Zorro50 (2.5 / 5): “Cédric Klapisch tries to surf his undeniable reputation in all criticism from France. However, we cannot hit the bull's eye and he goes out this time by clumsily mixing and present, moreover, using almost all unknown performers and without any charisma which do not risk winning their interpretation prices so much their game is approximate.“”

The coming of the future is currently in theaters.
