Despite the death of the actor on October 3 at 72, Patrice Leconte has a fairly painful memory of one of their common comedies, the great dukes, in which Blanc embodies a secondary role, that of an impressario a bit crook:

“It is curious to evoke Michel Blanc by evoking a memory [peu] satisfying”says Leconte. “I do not know what he had, he should not be on his plate during the shooting. He is perfect in the film and it is only the result that counts, so the rest we don't care. But he was not as friendly as what I knew about him, he could be odious … Even the three tenors – Marielle, Rochefort and Noiret – asked me:” I don't know, maybe he was in a bad pass … “
As emphasizes The Dauphiné liberatedMichel Blanc gave his vision of the filming of the Great Dukes in his official biography, and he does not seem to have had good memories:
“Patrice asked me to make the film because the TVs wanted an actor from the generation below to counterbalance the trio of stars. This comedy was not ashamed to do, but I had the impression that Patrice wanted to go very quickly on the set, as if he wanted to get rid of it. And I was annoyed. indifferent.
