It was she who revealed Adam Driver with her series in 2012 and she returns with a new romantic comedy this summer on Netflix – News Series

Lena Dunham, who revealed Adam Driver with “Girls”, returns this summer with “Too Much”, a romantic comedy of an autobiographical character on Netflix.

She had no longer created as series from camping (more or less successful) in 2018, and she is back with a project that looks like her. She is Lena Dunham with Too Much.

Imagine Jessica, a New York addicted to work, who, after a very painful break, decides to tackle everything to fly to London. This is the starting point of Too Much, the new creation of Lena Dunham which is inspired by his personal life.

Interpreted by the sparkling Megan Stalter (Hacks), Jessica hopes to find a new breath on the other side of the Atlantic. But the loneliness she envisages by living as one of the Brontë sisters quickly turns into a whirlwind of emotions when she meets Felix (Will Sharpe seen in season 2 of The White Lotus), a musician whose casual charm hides his share of complications. Their improbable connection goes far beyond romantic shots, and ask the question: do Americans and British really speak the same language?

In the swirling trailer, Lena Dunham promises with her inimitable style a funny and offbeat story with two borders …

A crazy casting of guest stars

But Too Much is not limited to his main duo! The cast is full of talents, with names as flashy as those of Richard E. Grant, Rita Wilson and Naomi Watts. Each character, even those who appear only briefly, seems to have a story to tell, making this series a real festival of emotions. Emotions which, as we know, overflow in Lena Dunham and in each of her works.

The guest stars are not to be outdone! We are promised the appearances of Kit Harington, Jessica Alba, Rita Ora, Andrew Scott and even Adèle Exarchopoulos! These cameos should make each episode even more unpredictable. Who knows what other familiar faces hide in this romantic comedy?

Lena Dunham: from girls to Too Much

Lena Dunham is a bit like an old friend who returns with stories to tell. With Girls, she was able to capture the air of the time and reveal raw talents like Adam Driver, which has since become a superstar. In this series, she brilliantly explored the meanders of the life of Millennials, complicated relationships and tumultuous friendships. Today, with Too Much, she returns to what made her famous, while adding her personal touch to a new love story.

Co -wrote with her husband, Luis Felber – who is therefore English, like Felix in the series – Too Much will clearly review all the chaotic stages of the couple before giving a happy end. Because Lena Dunham endeavors to always portray these moments of vulnerability and madness that mark relationships. With her incisive humor and her tender gaze, she likes to recall that love remains a magnificent adventure to live. The series, to discover from July 10 on Netflix, promises to be the gluttony of summer.
