Julija Stoliarenko Produces Armbar Stoppage to Defeat Molly McCann in UFC London
Julija Stoliarenko produced a dominant performance to defeat Molly McCann by first-round armbar submission in the co-main event of UFC London on Saturday.
The fight started with both fighters exchanging strikes, but Stoliarenko quickly took the fight to the ground and took McCann’s back. McCann attempted to scramble, but Stoliarenko was able to maintain her position and transition to an armbar. McCann tapped out at the 1:53 mark of the first round.
The win was Stoliarenko’s third in her last four fights and her first since July 2021. It was also her first submission win since 2019.
McCann, who was fighting in front of her home crowd, was visibly disappointed after the loss. However, she showed great sportsmanship in defeat and congratulated Stoliarenko on her victory.
“I’m not going to lie, I’m gutted,” McCann said after the fight. “But I’m a fighter and I’ll be back.”
Stoliarenko, who is now 9-6-1 in her MMA career, is looking to build on her momentum with a win in her next fight. She is hoping to get a shot at a title contender in her next fight.
“I’m ready for anyone,” Stoliarenko said. “I want to fight the best.”
