For one battle after the other, the director of There Will Be Blood and Boogie Nights adapts is inspired by the novel by Thomas Pynchon published in 1990, Vinelandto modernize it.
In the film, a group of former revolutionaries meets to save the daughter of one of their own when an enemy resurfaces after sixteen years. Leonardo DiCaprio, who promises to offer an even more inhabited interpretation, plays the man whose daughter was removed.
