Lilo & Stitch: Did you recognize French voices?

The version of “Lilo & Stitch” in real shots has just been released in theaters to the delight of fans of the 2003 film and children. But have you recognized the characters' voices?

Twenty-three years after the animated version of Dean Deblois and Chris Sanders, the little blue extraterrestrial Stitch and the young Lilo are back in an adaptation in real shots.

The film tells the story of Lilo Pelekai, a lonely 6 -year -old girl living in Hawaii, who dreams of having a best friend. Since the tragic disappearance of their parents, Nani – her 18 -year -old older sister – and she must fend for herself alone. After visiting the local animal refuge, the little girl brings a wild and impulsive creature home, determined to sow chaos.

But this new pet, called Stitch, is actually an extraterrestrial: more precisely, experience 626, escaped from the planet Turo. Two representatives of the Galactic Federation, Pleakley and Jumba, have the mission of infiltrating the human race and are now on it …

This reinterpretation of the classic Disney is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, director of Marcel Le Coquilillage (with his shoes). Although faithful to the original film, this new version has differences with the initial work that make it a modern tale. A film that will appeal to fans of the first part as much as to new spectators.

And if you had discovered the animated film in French, keep your ear well… Disney has indeed called upon the doublers of the original film for this new part.

Thus, Emmanuel Garijo once again lends his voice to David and Stitch. Met on the occasion of promoting the last film, the latter told us: “”Basically, I came to try to double David and Barbara Tissier said to me: “Do you make a little bizarre voices too, don't you want to take tests for blue critters?” I did it and that's it …“”

The dubbing actor remained quite faithful to what Chris Sanders proposed, the director who also lent his voice to Stitch in VO, but was able to try a few things in improvisation.

When Disney recalled the actor, the latter obviously agreed to take up this iconic role. He explains to us: “It was magic. It's like when you get out of an amusement park, you dream of going back, and then one day we are offered to go. Especially since at the same time, I learn that Camille Donda will double Nani! “

From Lilo to his sister Nani …

And if Emmanuel Garijo is so happy to find Camille Donda, It's for a good reason: the actress lent her voice to Lilo in the 2002 film! Logical evolution, Disney this time offered to double Nani, Lilo's big sister, embodied on the screen by Sydney Elizabeth Agudong. Emmanuel Garijo and Camille Donda have known each other for 23 years.

The actress discovered that the studio had produced a live film Lilo & Stitch when he saw the trailer, but ignored that she was going to be part of the adventure. She declares to our microphone: “ The trailer made me want, but I didn't know that we were going to call me. When I was offered to double Nani, I leaps in my living room, I was so happy! It is the logical continuation and the perfect evolution. It's very moving. “

After Vaiana 2, Lilo!

And it is the young Charlie Dassin who lends her voice to Lilo, interpreted on the screen by the young Maia Kealoha. The little girl already doubled Simea, Vaiana's little sister in Vaiana 2.

Camille Donda adds about Charlie: “I didn't need to coach her because she saw the cartoon many times, so she knows it well. She is very good.”

Another little wink: Tia Carrere, who embodies the educator Mme Kekoa in the film Live, lent her voice to Nani in the original version of the 2002 film.

Lilo & Stitch is currently to be seen in theaters.
