A direct link with Iron Man
Back in Chicago after being fired from the MIT, our heroine agrees to join a group of mercenaries to be able to collect money and improve her armor. A character that we had heard more of since the first Iron Man 17 years ago. Played Jeff Bridges, he was one of Howard Stark's closest collaborators as well as Tony's mentor, before he turned against him.
In the comics, the latter bears the name of Iron Monger but his pseudonym had never been directly pronounced. Until today and until this replica of Alden Ehrenreich in episode 3: “You had a good model, I had Iron Monger”.
Vilain from father to son
In the comics, Ezekiel Stane follows the traces of her father by becoming a super-viilain. He carries an armor based on bio-technology which allows him to be almost invincible. An aspect that seems a little more nuanced in Ironheart since the character absolutely does not want to look like Obadiah.
It is even presented as a looser which is crushed by its neighborhood. He also knows the truth about Stane's death: he committed suicide after trying to have Tony Stark killed.
What way will he finally take in the MCU? Marvel is posting online next Wednesday the last three episodes of season 1 of Ironheart and one thing is certain, everything can switch to Ezekiel and Riri (Dominique Thorne)…
