The final episode of Ironheart on Disney+ sent the series to a whole new direction with the introduction of a character that fans have been waiting for several years …
Please note, this article spoil the last three episodes of Ironheart.
In 2021, Marvel inaugurated a new era by launching on Disney+ his first series, Wandavision, centered on the character of the Red Witch after the events of Avengers Endgame.
Marvel takes a new step in the world of magic by introducing the character of Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), a powerful witch who covets Darkhold, the black book of spells. During this period, fans are convinced that another big bad guy hides in the shadows: mephisto, a demonic entity that can be compared to the devil.
The latter was teased in other programs, in more or less subtle ways. In Loki, the drawing of a devil appears in a setting, when in Agatha All Along, it is his name which is pronounced (for the first time) by one of the witches of the Sabbath. But we can go back to 2012 and in Avengers to see a first Easter Egg. The most attentive fans had indeed noticed the mention of mephisto in a file of the shield on the tessract.

The House of Ideas did not seem in a hurry to present this super-viola to the public. Until today and the final episode of Ironheart.
A surprise cameo!
Episode 6 opens onto theOrigin Story From The Hood, the big bad guy played by Anthony Ramos. While he has just robbed his father's house who put him on the street, he crosses the road to a stranger who offers him an enticing pact: being able to realize his dream in exchange for something “that he will not miss”. What the young boy agrees to do.
And this character is none other than Mephisto, as he will reveal to Riri in the last moments of season 1. Marvel chose Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, the 7 of Chicago) to lend him his features. An interesting choice when you know that the actor is as good in comedy as in drama.

Marvel
This super-vilan Marvel is gifted in the wheelchair and is as malicious as Loki : He knows how to convince his victims to spend a market with him. And that makes him an extremely dangerous character.
Especially since we have not seen his true face: he disguises himself in the guise of a man while his body is red like the devil (we also see his real reflection in a spoon in the restaurant). Its creator, Stan Lee, was inspired by Mephistopheles, a demon of German folklore recognizable by the two horns on his head.
What future for mephisto in the MCU?
What Hood and Riri do not know is that they actually spent a market with the devil, and that they sold their soul to him. The choice of heroine at the end of the series is particularly interesting: if season 2 of Ironheart there is, then we should review on the Sacha Baron Cohen screen in Mephisto.
Indeed, the young woman will have to do everything to go and recover her soul and for that, she could have received the help of great wizards, like Dr Strange, to accompany him in hell or in other cosmic dimensions.
The series could also be directly attached to Avengers Doomsday, expected at the cinema in 2026. The latter will indeed introduce the character of Doctor Fatalis (Robert Downey Jr), an villain who has often mixed his scientific genius with magic to defeat his enemies. In other words, we have not finished hearing about the devil of Marvel.
