Mona’s interest in business and finance began at a young age, inspired by reading the now defunct Zillions magazine, a children’s version of Consumer Reports published by Consumers Union. She opened her first checking account at the age of 10 and became passionate about saving. However, after getting her first full-time job, she realized she knew nothing about financial planning or investing and began to educate herself using free online resources.
While working in technology and learning about finance, Mona became involved in the online community FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early). Inspired by the book The Millionaire Next Door, she began a parallel freelance writing. After two years, Mona became a full-time writer. Today, she writes on a variety of topics and is particularly drawn to those seeking to inform and empower readers.
