No, Squid Game is not the only South Korean series that is a hit on Netflix. Almost every week, productions from South Korea are appearing and incorporating the top 10 of the most consulted programs on the platform. A series has particularly distinguished itself, since it appears in the classification of the most seen international productions of all time on Netflix.
It is obviously not a squid game, whose seasons 1 and 2 occupy the first two places in the ranking, with respectively 2.205 billion and 1.308 billion hours of viewing. It remains to be seen whether season 3 of the program, now available on Netflix, will be able to do both – even better – than the first two.
The other South Korean series in the All-Time ranking on Netflix
What is this other South Korean series that has hit the world on the platform? Well, this is a series of zombies, entitled All of Us Are Dead. Adapted from the webtoon signed Joo Dong-Geun, the first season of the program was broadcast on January 28, 2022, more than three years ago.
All of Us Are Dead is a series of zombies taking place in a high school. It thus mixes horrifying codes with those of the teenagers, and offers a hectic intrigue interspersed with gore scenes and other bloody effects. It therefore seems good to specify that the program is primarily intended for an informed audience (Netflix the class as prohibited for under 16s).
In just 30 days, the series had accumulated more than 450 million hours of viewing. It is therefore without great surprise that a season 2 of All of Us Are Dead was ordered by the platform. And yet, more than three years after the broadcast of the first season, the shooting of the series has still not resumed.
Season 2, yes but when?
The shots were however supposed to start in April 2024, for a broadcast of season 2 scheduled for the second half of this year. But let's say it right away: All of Us Are Dead will not return in 2025. The shooting was indeed postponed, in order to ensure the quality of the program. Let's translate them: the scenarios of season 2 were not considered of sufficient quality to be turned as it is.
It will therefore be necessary to arm even more before you hope to discover the continuation of All of Us Are Dead. So let's hope that this expectation does not go beyond 2026, which would already make more than four years of waiting between seasons 1 and 2. And hope that in the event of confirmed success, season 3 arrives faster without which fans could end up forgetting until the existence of this program.
