Mystery in Paradise: ‘Research Section’ Returns with a High-Stakes Special Episode in Martinique

A new special episode of Section de recherches will be broadcast this evening on TF1, but what is it worth? We’ll tell you everything!

What is it about?

Captain Bernier, now retired, is considering a career as a skipper. He agrees to try out a boat in Martinique, aboard a magnificent catamaran. So it is at Anse d’Arlet that we find Bernier, accompanied by Lucas, Vicky and Jeanne, who welcomes a group of tourists for an idyllic cruise…

At least, that’s what they think… because the very day after a party during which Simon, one of the passengers, proposed to his girlfriend, she disappears from the boat without a trace. Suicide, accident or murder? The hypotheses flow until the discovery of a bloody knife…

Research Section: The 12th Passenger broadcast on September 5 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1

Who is it with?

To our great pleasure, Xavier Deluc returns to service in the role of Commander Bernier while Franck Semonin, Fabienne Carat and Félicité Chaton slip back into the characters of Lucas, Jeanne and Vicky.

But to accompany them in this new adventure, they can count on a host of guests well known to viewers. Indeed, Jérémy Banster already seen in Un si grand soleil plays the role of Alain. For his part, Adher Gabeulet (Tomorrow Belongs to Us) plays the character of Bruno.

At the same time, Philypa Phoenix (Follow, Camping Paradis) is also there, as are Jean-François Cayrey, Daniely Francisque, Elisa Erka and Hakim Faris.

A great cast for an investigation that will take our favorite heroes to Martinique.

Is it worth a look?

After a first special episode broadcast at the beginning of the year, Section de Recherches is back for a new part whose plot takes place in Martinique. In addition to a dream setting, it is a high-flying investigation that awaits our favorite characters.

Surfing once again on the genre of the closed room, this new chapter divided into two parts sees our team investigating while they are supposed to be having a good time on a catamaran. But when a young woman disappears without a trace, Bernier can’t decently leave his cop costume in the closet.

Forgetting the job of skipper, he throws himself into the investigation without further ado. If we still appreciate the characters, we must say that this unitary perhaps lacks a little suspense. Despite a stifling atmosphere and a great performance from the actors, we guess pretty quickly who is responsible for what is happening.

However, this should delight fans of the genre as most of the elements of a good detective story are gathered together. A little bonus, our heroes might well play Koh-Lanta at some point. Enough to discover them in a situation that pushes them to their limits.

In short, Research Section: The 12th Passenger is a nice prime whose humor and exoticism we appreciate. If you have always loved the series, you will be absolutely delighted to find it again. Especially since Bernier’s team is still as united as ever!
